Flights

Postby Sue » 16 Apr 2007 17:00

I have noticed this year that the flight I am due to go on in May is dearer now that when I booked it 6 months ago, so curiousity got the better of me for 2008 and some of the flights are well over £300 each in May/June I wonder if they will also rise as the year go's on seems pretty expensive for that time of year

Don't worry Sue.

As I book lots of flights for people I do see this all the time and there are certain times of the year for booking flights to make sure that you get the best prices.

There is a time to get your early flights and one for the high season and then the later season.

The thing though is knowing when is the best time for this and that is why I sell so many flights to people as they know I can get them

I have been going to Turkey since 1996 and never know the flights to be as dear as that before, at one time if you book early you get a good deal but i have noticed this year that the flight I am going on in 5 weeks is dearer than when I booked it last June, you would think that it would get cheaper as they cant get rid of the flights

The flights are dearer because there are not that many flights left

Turkey is a lot busier this year and already there are lots of flights sold out and flights are showing as one way only as there are no seats left on the return leg

Hi Sue,

We travel a lot with H4U as these fit in with the school times quite nicely. They're not the best flights with Onur Air (no entertainment and cr@p food), but they get you there at a fairly reasonable price. We will have been out 4 times by August , 3 in the school holidays. The max we have paid is £260 for 14 days in August (this is with XL) and the other times were with 7 days with H4U (February - £120, April - £140 and May - £220)

Hi
I've just managed to get 4 flights in June for £604. Just stick with it on the internet and you'll get there.

I booked my flight at the end of last September, got an absolute bargain - Bristol to Dalaman, return, departing May 14 total £98 per person including all taxes and charges.... my advice is just keep checking and when you see a good price book it - that same flight went up to £240 pp within a couple of weeks!

Generally flight only seats are released much later than package holidays.

flights

Postby kazza1 » 16 Apr 2007 23:00

I booked with ****** in Sept for August 2007 cost £300 also our friends 10 of us.Perfect flying times departing mid morning and flying back teatime.(but they did say flights had to be confirmed)but they would still be a day flight.Got my confirmation a few days ago and find they changed the retun flight which should have left dalaman 2.30 in afternoon or there abouts has been changed to departing 4.30 in the morning which means we now will be leaving our hotel the night before now, which really we have lost a night and a good day flight at our expense.Looking on there web site they still have day flights on offer but they say we cant have those flights. Will not be booking with these cowboys again!!!

I booked about 6 weeks ago for Sept 07 from Cardiff to Dalaman with Agean flights, I got it for £88 each return. Its already gone up to £123 each return.

Pays booking early with this company.
