Sad

Postby wa66yne » 21 May 2016 07:39

Hi all,
After speaking to many Turkish friends that I talk too on a regular basis, seeing various forums, and chatting to people within the travel industry, I know this season is going to be so very hard for the Turkish people ( oh and those from northwest England who apparently love 'Z cars') it not only affects the restauranters, the hotel owners, the travel agents but it also affects the students who come to work for the summer to pay there way, the bee keepers who sell there amazing honey on the trips, right down to the 5 year old who wants to tell you your over weight on there scales.
One thing is this, I love turkey and the people within the amazing country, and unless I am told ' no sir you won't be boarding that plane ' I will be travelling to turkey every year to rest, eat, drink, and enjoy my time with true friends. I will be there and giving alittle of what I have to as many Turkish people as I can, right from the one lira trolley guys at Dalaman ( which I don't use ) to the hotel staff, from the shop keepers to the apple pie man, from the travel agents to the cheeky kids that want to weight you.
Basically I will be traveling to my rest home and as long as my physical presence is on this planet I will support the Turkish people. Too few people have caused chaos/hate/dread to so many people in this world, BUT THEY WONT STOP ME.

Thank you rant over

Well said - and I hope things do pick up a bit as the season progresses. Everyone works so hard all season to make our holidays special and it looks like it's going to be harder work than ever this year. Like you, unless they cancel the flights or the government changes its travel advice, I'm going and will be doing my bit!

Hear hear!

The only way to beat terrorism is to refuse to be terrorised. I refuse. We're going in August. Can't wait.

There are people now in resort who instead of enjoying their holiday in the sun, just walk around day and night counting how many people are in apartments, telling which ones are open or not and just in my opinion not helping anything by constantly repeating that the resorts are quiet

Go on holiday to relax not to be a reporter for the daily globe

The more crap these people put up then the more people will say I can't be bothered going as its very quiet

Well said. We can't go this year due to ill health. Gutted
But when we do go back we will be 'living in the moment', going where we want to go, when we want to. We probably won't even notice which apartments empty.
Of you are lucky enough to be going on holiday-just enjoy it.
Happy holidays everyone.

My wife Anne and I cant wait `til the 20th june and its already been said, until we`re told we cant step foot on a plane to sunny Icmeler then we`ll keep going and going. After all we save up our hard earned pennies all year to spend them in Icmelers great bars/restaurants and yes to the cheeky little s---s with the scales, how dare they tell me i`m overweight when I already know, its bad enough when family and friends tell me. You know what i`m going to kick one of them into the med   Only joking!
