morning john ! your fingers must be sore ! this topic has generated great debate just like it used to be on here,at least you acknowledge the numbers are well down , im sure you agree with some of my points and disagree with other points which is fine,sadly there are some on here frightened there glass world will shatter if they concede the fact the numbers are in decline and the resort is quiet,i do however 100 % agree with you that icmeler will bounce back in the years to come, why wouldn,t it , its still the best place on the planet.i,, be happy.

People were asking where Gene is.

He is still watching and reading but there has been nothing to tempt him to write anything for a while

Well I know Gene very well and as he has seen it all its getting samey but if anything will make him post it will be something like this where he can give his own thoughts

When I posted this is didn't intend to start arguments but a lot of points made are definitely valid yes the resort has changed quite a lot is it for the better I'm not sure but I know that I will continue to visit icmeler as long as I can the people are still wonderful the food is still amazing the scenery which sometimes I take for granted is still absolutely gorgeous so I will be leaving Friday and when I get home I will be counting down the days till we return in september

Kez&Sue, I totally agree with your comments about Icmeler. We are coming out in June. We've been coming to Icmeler for years and seen a lot of changes and we still love the place! We are both in our sixties, but we certainly do not deliberately seek out quieter bars or go to bed early. We can party with the best of them if we're in the mood! Hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Icmeler and have a great time in September. Tell Mehmet we'll see him soon.

Been to icmeler since 1995 so bit of veteran.
Terrorism....
We have been in Turkey when the Foreign office has recommend not to go
We have had an earthquake whilst out there
A bomb has gone off in Marmaris in a bin
A local head case murdered someone on the beach in Marmaris whilst we were out there. Did we run off home ...NO
Did we stop shopping in London because the IRA bombed it
Did we stop holidaying in Turkey because the PKK were doing the same
NO
Yes icmeler has changed yes the canal has changed yes my favourite restaurant has gone yes I am over 50 and hated the takyness of the loud bars and the Stella show (RIP)
BUT I STILL GO
I am not a coward
I luv Icmeler
I roll with it and make the most of it
