Welcome to the Canaries! .....

Postby geordie1970 » 18 May 2016 16:44

Hi all, me and Mrs G arrived safely this morning (around 2.30am) via a private transfer, which was excellent and so quick compared to the usual Coach journey

Munamar Beach Hotel seems busy enough, but nowhere as full as our previous stay next door at the Munamar Beach Residence, where you use this Hotel for food and drink etc.

Weather today was good and spent the day down the Beach, with only one swim due to water being a bit on the cold side and I'm a 'hard' Geordie!!

The title of the topic refers to the Wind today, which was quite blustery at times and was the windiest we've ever had! ... I felt like I'd been shot blasted whilst lying on my Sun Lounger at times!

I'll report more through the week and off to the Tandoori Sizzler for a meal tonight and to catch up with Abraham and Mico, Smiler is now at De Ja Vu we've been told?

Anyway, got my Hair to do and catch up later.

Cheers and thanks Chezza

Munamar Beach Residence isn't even open yet!!

So anyone booked in there looks like being moved to the Munamar Beach next door ....

Tandoori (soon to be renamed 'The Corner') was quiet tonight, only about 4 tables taken when we were in  .. but early in the season still I suppose ....

Winds have dropped which is good as we're on the Ozge boat tomorrow :D

Cheers Mansy

Boat trip was good as ever, water freezing but hey I'm hard as nails! Lol

Weather was around 30 today, still breezy though  and quite a nip in the air after 8pm ... but no hoodie as yet ...it's still warm compared to Blyth! :D

Still plenty of Hotels not open as yet and seems like some Shops/Restaurants have given up too!

Morning all, just a quick weather update ....

Few showers through the night and woke up to grey skies today

Looks like it's the Dolmus into Marmaris today and a trip to run the gauntlet in the Bazar :D

Hopefully it will get out nice later

If you dare go that bar again after the waterfall (the one with Elvis outside), beware of all "shot putters".
Hope you and Jeanette are enjoying it.

Lol Mansy  ... Doubt Mrs G will ever let me go back in the Wonder Bar! .. I'm too much of a babe magnet!! :D

Thunderstorms all last night, but weather after a cloudy start has been glorious, so here's hoping it's Sun, Sun, Sun from now on ....

Bit of info ... Portofino Hotel by us still not open, but new Sun Beds delivered today and pool works are ongoing ... also Konte, Efendi, Heaven Bar and Maestro Restaurant all closed and will be demolished later in the year ... apparently all owned by same owner and a new big hotel will be built and there will be shops underneath.

Mrs G's birthday today, so out for a meal and loads of drink!!
