Visa

Postby fatblokecaver » 16 Mar 2016 22:03

Can you still get your visa at the airport?
We are returning to Icmeler hopefully this year and are taking friends.
Is there anything that would stop you entering Turkey
Just wondering....

Last season you could still get a visa at the airport but I understand this was at very limited times of the day.

Its risky and I wouldn't take the chance - especially as the process will move 100% online at some point.

Hi fatblokecaver. You can but why would you want to when a couple of mins online is all it takes.
The visa is then electronically linked to the passport and then police at the arrival gates only look at, and stamp, the passport.
I would take a print out copy with you just in case of a computer problem, although this has never happened to me.

Hi fatblokecaver,

I totally agree with StevieG with getting your Visa on line.
I have got mine online the past 2 years and will be doing the same this year.
Plus it is such a straight forward process and takes away a worry before you travel.
Hope this helps

Definitely get it online before you go - but make sure you only use the official site - www.evisa.gov.tr

I am curious to see what will happen if Turkey are given visa free travel across Europe

Will this mean that it is reciprocal and we will get it to Turkey

I suspect those in the Schengen region may get visa free travel but I wouldn't expect it for us Brits.

I understand why we are not part of the Schengen scheme but it would be nice to be able to bring friends over more freely to visit and in return have visa free travel to Turkey :)
