Great result!! I also had the same problem with Monarch last year. I got no joy in my e-mails and phone calls to them. We just ended up going round in circles. Then my friend suggested I post on their facebook wall (they had moved me from an early morning flight to a late evening one so effectively I would lose a day of my holiday). Within an hour I got a request to contact their team privately. I got nearly £300 in compensation, upgraded seats, meals and free luggage. It is worth kicking up a fuss albeit a "public" one. Social media is a good place to start it seems!!

I I know what you mean Amelia. They knew they were in the wrong, but wouldn't admit it. It all turned out good in the end....but it should never have happened. We shouldn't have to put up a fight to get what is lawfully ours. If we book & pay for 7 nights then we should get 7 nights. It's like waving a red rag to a bull , when I get wronged I will fight to the bitter end to get it put right.

And the fun starts again. I booked in January to fly Newcastle to Dalaman on 6th May returning on 21st. E-mail yesterday announces that both flights are cancelled and we have been rebooked on flights out on 9th May and return on 22nd to shorten my holiday by 2 days. I'm not about to live with this and all I want to do is cancel and get a full refund. TC not answering the phone nor replying to e-mails so I've taken the first steps towards legal action. Anyone else booked on the several affected Newcastle flights want to join in with a class action?

Thomas cook and Thomson are cancelling a lot of flights due to lack of demand to turkey due to Syria crisis,there a article I seen said its down by 40 % ,there a lot cheap deals I found a week end may package £150 bargain. I don't think legal action work if you read small print there within there right change flights losing 2 days is a pain but not bad losing flight altogether Aegean flight that happened few years back.,hope you sort it .

The small print also states that, in the event of a major change - and two days of your holiday is certainly a major change - you are entitled to cancel and get a full refund. That's what I would do - and then book with another airline instead.

Its annoying I agree but nothing illegal - the dates they have moved you to will be the nearest to your original dates. However as others have said you will get a full refund and will be able re-book with somebody else - and from what I've read there are some good bargains to be had.

Hang on in there, keep ringing them and don't back down when you eventually get through. Stick to your guns...Thomas Cook didn't know what hit 'em when I argued my case last September. If you book and pay for a certain amount of nights, then that's what you should get. I stuck it out and eventually they sorted it. Good luck

Having finally got through this morning- camped on a line at 8.00 am- offered cancellation and a full refund without demur. Now rebooked with Jet2, wound up with 17 days but a bit more expensive and got hotel sorted. TC have gone up in my estimation. If you are around Icmeler 6th to 23rd May hopefully see you
