Some of us have posted reviews, Bill - but I agree, there does seem to be a lack of them so far this season. I know we have members who have recently come back, so maybe they will post reviews soon.

Sorry everyone, just been so busy since coming back early hours on Saturday ... Straight back to work Monday and also busy on our own business we have

I'll try and find time over the next couple of days to leave a review, but we loved Icmeler the same as ever, regardless of the 'changes' .... More to follow!

Hi all, sorry i`ve taken so long to post my holiday review. As regards to the "changes" cant say that it`s changed too much. Yes you still get the dancing waiters etc, but still lots went on. The thing I found most annoying though was the music, everywhere was the same old, same old and after a few days it got a bit much, i`m a bit of an old rocker me but had to put up with the odd Robin Thicke and Pharrell. To be honest it did`nt spoil our holiday and what about the weather? Unbelievable. It managed to hit 46 at one point in fact all the time we were there I dont think it dropped below 39 during the day, now thats a tad hot! We went on the village tour and to the carpet factory where my good lady fancied the big blue/silver creation at £9500! Still a good day out though. :D
We also went on the dinner cruise around Marmaris bay area what excellent value for seven quid each and thats food thrown in, although the booze was a little more expensive but hey we were on holiday and enjoying it, we set sail around 19.30 and disembarked(like the fancy word for a friday?) at around 22.30. Excellent, even my good lady got a little romantic
Glad to say though that nothing has changed regarding the level of service/food in any of the restaurants we visited, Bonjour,Masala and Richards all excellent. :D

Anyway to all that have been hope you all enjoyed it, to all thats still to go,hope you have a great time and to all still there a great big RASPBERRY cos i`m jealous!

CHANGES? WHAT CHANGES!

Here`s to next year.

Jim.

Hi daisysun, the village tour was interesting , to say the least, it was good, though on the day we went it was in the 40s so take plenty of water and a towel to dry off, I was sweating buckets.
Where we stopped off for lunch was under canvas and there was about half a dozen or so jeeps full of people for the jeep safari stopped there as well it was a bit hectic, organised chaos I called it. But it was a day away from the norm and we visited one of the mosques as well so all you ladies be prepared to get covered up before you go in, your given shawls to go round your legs and to cover your head, I suggested to my dearly beloved to cover her face as well  The carpet factory was different the work and the time that goes in to making the carpets/rugs and by hand at that is unbelievable, absolutely beautiful workwomanship, its the woman that make them, and you can buy if you wish, thats the idea for them to get you there and basically give you the big sell.
And to end the trip its down to beach/causeway, the name escapes me, it was most welcome going in for a dip, and then we were dropped at our hotel around 6ish for a well deserved shower and a freshen up. As I said it was something away from the norm learning a wee bit more about turkish village life etc. Hope you enjoy.

Sorry to butt in, but we did the Village Tour last year and it was okay ... You get to see a 'traditional' Turkish home with an Old Dear sitting outside who doesn't speak, the home was interesting and small, but worth a look

You then go to a local school (although closed when we went) and a Mosque (Headscarf for the Women and no Shoes for everyone) ... 'Kubi' or 'Scooby' (our Guide) if you prefer, was good and he also took us to Pammukale 2 weeks ago when we were there and is a very good Guide ... Although how ignorant are some 'foreigners' and English mind who go on those trips and natter away while the Guide is talking on the Bus? ... Annoys me!

We enjoy all the Trips we go on ... But the highlight just gone was the Jeep Safari (never fancied it before) and what a day! .. Rambo the main guide was a scream, all the Drivers were courteous, safe and funny ... But the Water Gun fights were amazing! ... Honestly, if no one has done this then it's a must!!

Thank you both we are looking forward to it. We wont be buying any rugs etc but looking forward to seeing a bit more of turkey away from the main tourist areas :)
We would maybe do the jeep safari but we have a 2 year old so probably not until he's older.it annoys me when people talk over the top of the tour guide as well, its just bad manners isn't it and also stops other people on the trip hearing

At last, as promised here it is ...... Not in too much detail, don't want to bore anyone and the World Cup Final is only minutes away! Lol

Firstly, Passport control so much easier ... No more bouncing from one Desk to another ....

Transfer was okay again by Coach, with the usual stop at the 'Open Air' Service Station (that's when you realise you're back, as the heat even at 11.30pm hits you and you look up and see there's no Roof!). Roads are getting there slowly, with the works on the Dual Carriageway coming on nicely, so maybe by September they'll be finished, but in what year is anyone's guess! Lol

Le'toile Hotel was good, although me and Mrs G ate out every night bar 1, even though we were all inclusive and mainly used it for Breakfast, Day time Drink, Lunch and the odd night time tipple before bed .... made some friends whilst there and had a laugh with them over the holiday.

Icmeler itself despite the 'changes' was superb as ever, with the 'less hassle' restraining order a welcome change and the atmosphere was a lot more relaxed we felt. If you want hassle and boom, boom music go to Marmaris ... Although the Irish bar was 'rocking' when we went one night and is a welcome change the odd time I suppose

Trips were good, we done 2 Boat Trips (lazy day and Hisaronu) and the latter had Mrs G nearly throwing up as I munched my way through 2 freshly cooked Crabs with a nut cracker and my fingers  ... We went to Pammukale, Jeep Safari (fantastic) and Marmaris for a bit of shopping ... Well I say shopping, it was a handbag day for Mrs G the 1st day and 2 trips to the Pandora shop on 2 occasions which left me about £400 lighter!

Anyway, not much (if any) bad things to report and all the comments prior to us arriving didn't put us off nor affect our 2 weeks .... So much so that we're back 19/9 for a 'sneaky' week ....

Have a great holiday those that are still to go and see you there maybe?

Cheers
