What?? NO Market??? .... Why?? .... I love the banter etc, but not the heat and sometimes the hassle, but it's a half day out the sun and chance to pick up a bargain or 2 :(

Think the nearest proper market now is in Mugla...

Hi - Christine from Fryer Tucks (ex Travellers rest) is running a trip from her restaurant to the market at Dalyan... thinks its once a week and looks very popular - you can book direct at Fryer Tucks.

You will find when you arrive that all the excursion sellers will be offering market trips to Datca, Mugla and also Koycegiz

Boo hiss! ... It's a shame JT, used to be probably be everyone's holiday ritual to Barter and feel like you won the battle! Lol

Suppose we can still do it, but it's just that little bit further away! .... Wot's the main reason for the Mayor stopping them in Icmeler/Marmaris then?

The Thursday market in Marmaris is just Fruit and veg the same as in Icmeler, but all the shops in the main centre of Marmaris near the marina are all still open and waiting for customers :)

Just been reading an old post on another forum that says if you travel from Marmaris to Mugla for the market they recommend that you take your passport as the bus/coach may get stopped on the return journey for passport/visa checks.

Perhaps somebody can confirm wether this is still the case..

cmac, it will be £10 per person for Market Trip Mondays & Thursdays.

steveyvonne, yes you need to take your passport or some sort of ID with you as the bus may get stopped.
