Changing money with Travelfx

Postby Chris221273 » 20 Jan 2014 11:48

Hey all,
Is it a safe way to exchange money?
Looking at the current rate I'm tempted to change some up.
What's the safest way, bacs, money transfer and is the delivery safe?

I always use Travelfx for changing currency here. There rate is consistently higher than anywhere else.
I've never had a problem with the bank transfer and delivery is usually next day signed for.
I wouldn't use anyone else now :)

Thanks Janey that puts my mind at ease!
Just don't want to miss out on such a brilliant rate!

We always used to change ours with ice but noticed that travelfx was always that little bit higher. We thought that there would be a charge for using a bank transfer which would effectively bring the rate down. Janey had posted how easy it was to use and we've used them many times since. In fact we`ve used them three times over the past winter. If the rate increases again during the elections we'll change more and keep the lira we have. We're reluctant to spend any money as we want to keep it to change into lira.

Is the lira likely to rise during the elections then? And could it also drop?
We are looking at it in the basis that when we last went we got I think 2.82 ish per pound, so am reckoning that at 3.5tl to the pound it's kind of a win win situation for us, unless I've worked it out wrong?!

Sorry Chris, only just read your post. A bit late I know but if confidence is low, as it was before the elections then the rate would rise, as the market is unsure of what will happen. As the ruling party won by 45% then renewed confidence and the rate dropped. There are so many other things that affect the rate as well, such as the strength of the £. If everything settles down again then the rate will continue to drop but it won't take much to have another 'wobble' I shouldn't think and then the rate will rise again. There is another election in August so we'll have to wait an see. The highest rate that we've had previously was 2.9 so anything above 3 is a bonus :)
