Geordie1970, how dare you say that word to me.... WORK !!
We retired on 21st June, and love it so far. More time now for our favourite pastime, HOLIDAYS. :D :D
And no, I am not one of those oldies wearing a coat in Icmeler, wouldn't dream of it. Even if I was cold

RETIRED????? ... You lucky couple of ****s! Lol ... How old are you Mansy? If you don't mind me asking

If things don't go to plan I've got 24 years of (that word) to go until I'm 67! ... But in reality I'm hoping to have my house paid off by 55, sell for 160k+ in today's money, buy abroad (icmeler hopefully) and leave 100k in the bank to live off, plus old age pension etc ..... A dream maybe .... but it better come true!

Geordie1970, never ask a lady's age !!! But as I'm no lady and in my head i'm about 40... here goes......I will be 62 in December, Mr M is 63. No one believes us when we tell them, been told loads of times we look like late 40's, early 50's.
I think it's just a number, no big deal. If you think old, act old then old you'll be.

Mr M took early retirement, I officially became a "pensioner" on 6th Sept.
now we do anything we want, anytime we want to. It's great

We had the same dream as you, then our grandson came along.
Hubby still wants to go, I'm torn.

Lol, I knew you'd complain about me asking Mansy as soon as I typed it!

Grandkids will have somewhere to holiday as far as I'm concerned, ain't got any yet ... But we've got 5 boys between me and Mrs G (mine are 15 & 12 and hers are 22, 20 & 16) so one day probably, but I'm not going to spend my days babysitting, taxi driving etc :x ... No chance!! Lol

That's what we said !!
There's a lot more to it, in short, lost my parents very quickly 6 months apart, Aaron born 6 months later :D , nearly lost him to meningitis age 1 year, daughter in law diagnosed with cancer 1 year later. As she has no parents now all help kind of comes from us. On a brighter note, grandson recovered with minor problems, daughter in law doing well, now in remission. She is expected to make a complete recovery, fingers crossed.
So one day..... Maybe the dream will be realised, but at the mo 3 holidays a year will have to do.

Not at all offended by you asking my age, I think it's just a number.
My advice is, never think old, act old or heaven forbid..... Wear a coat in Icmeler !

11 sleeps... :D

Glad everyone's back on track Mansy ... Good news!

We're the same as you so far with the 3 hols, Lanzarote for new year gone for a week, 2 weeks in icmeler and another week in 14 sleeps! .... But got loads to be done at home - kitchen, windows, bathroom, garage conversion, decorating, flooring, etc etc or sun & Efes?? Difficult decision! Lol

And don't worry I'll never wear a coat in icmeler ..... Ever!!!!
