Using a gym

Postby emzee » 02 Sep 2013 04:09

We are coming on 11th, next week :D and need to find a really good gym that we can pay to use as we are staying in an apartment this time. Can anyone recommend somewhere? I need a decent one that has plenty of barbells and weights, plus machines, and treadmills etc. I would be quite happy to use a local Turkish one, it doesn't have to be a hotel. I'm sure there must be some good ones judging by the number of totally pumped waiters and dancers everywhere. Tried contacting the Aqua hotel direct but had no reply yet. Any help would be great, Thanks!

Don't think there is a local one - only ones I've heard of are in the big AI hotel such as the Aqua. Try the Marti too - it should have one.

There is one at the Marti

Go to the back gates, see the guard and he will direct you to the gym

Can't remember prices

The one at the Marti is probably the best but in all honesty its seriously average and weights wise the one at the Olgum gardens is better. The Marti is 140tl a month for non-residents by the way

I'm a personal trainer myself and teach personal trainers at home and have been looking a gyms for a while. I have clients spending a week at a time in my villa on weightloss or fitness programs and its a struggle to find a decent gym but on the plus side there is so much other stuff you can do here that you don't have to have a gym for that it doesn't need to be a problem.

I fe people have told me that The Elegance in Marmaris is the best locally and I will check that out tomorrow.

If you need any advice let me know.

Ps Hi everyone

The gym at the Elegance is very very good, its very well air conditioned and has brand new Technogym equipment including a decent weights set up suitable for anyone up to serious power lifters.

Its head and shoulders above anything found in Icmiler and only five min on the dolmus :)
