2014 Booked

Postby dksbbs » 24 Aug 2013 18:20

Today finally got my wifes holidays signed off from work so we could at last book flights.

Next year we are doing two nights in Istanbul and thirteen nights at the Sun Village, Icmeler

Quite happy flights were not to bad price wise and less than we paid this year with Monarch for end of July flights direct to Dalaman.

Sunday 27th July Fly Manchester to Istanbul
Tuesday 29th July Fly Istanbul to Dalaman late evening.
Monday 11th August Fly Dalaman to Manchester via Istanbul.

Flights include meals, drinks and 23Kg of luggage

Price £336 each.

Just now need to sort out a Hotel in Istanbul and private transfers the Dalaman end so an email has been sent to JT to leave it in his capable hands.

Now on countdown only 338 days to go, at least I only have 36 days until my next visit so will be under 300 when we come back.

We not going to be there at the same time as you again Dave, we go to Prestij 15th August for 3 weeks. We did consider going to Istanbul for a few days but we got my son and fiancé going with us so maybe another year we will do it. Might see what you have to say about it first lol x

You will have to write your review and let us know about Istanbul and sun apartments, I will look forward to reading it. We are going to do the two day Pamukkale and Ephesus trip through ICR while we are there next year, I remember you saying it was a good trip when you did it. x

I am still writing the review from this year, hopefully will have it finished this week but work has been manic, I'm leaving for the airport in a couple of hours as I have a meeting in Holland at 9am tomorrowow.

I definately recommend the two day trip, yes the hotel overnight is basic and the journey is long but it is so worth it, make sure when in Pammukale that you pay the extra to swim in Cleopatra's pool, this was the highlight of our holiday.

Our friends may join us again in a couple of years and I think they want to do it so we will go with them again.

JT sorted us out with a great little hotel in Istanbul and I am sure he will do the same for you. Loved Istanbul and can definitely see us doing the same kind of trip again, as we would love to see more of this fascinating city...

It appears JT has worked his magic, he has found us a hotel suite for the four of us at a great price.

Looking forward to seeing the key places, for me it's the Blue Mosque, Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Cistern and the Bospherus cruise, if we have time we will fit in other places, do you have any recommendations?

Given the limited time, those are the ones I would definitely recommend. The Bosphorus cruise we did was really good, as you also got to see some of the city before getting on the boat. They took us to the spice bazaar and Rustempasha mosque, almost next door to it, which although a lot smaller than the Blue Mosque or Hagia Sophia, is lovely with some very impressive mosaics.
