Sorry but I don't know where the Oren is but I can direct you from Tansas if that's any good?
Walking away from Tansas go past the bakery, past wayside and you'll come to a hair salon at the end of the road. Directly opposite that salon is Temel Kofte.

If you're coming from the opposite direction (near Sylvies or the school) just walk towards Tansas and it's on the corner on the right, opposite a hair salon lol

The most I paid for a lunch and a drink was 13TL and dinner was around 14TL I think but that included a large beer (not Efes but nice enough). They were also doing a 3 course, 4 dish set lunch for 10TL which is brilliant value and delicious.

If you look on TA you'll see my review and photo's. They're also on Facebook and keep in contact which is lovely.

I really can't recommend this place highly enough if good honest Turk food is your thing, especially as there's no dancing waiters, loud music, 'shows' at all which is another thing I loved about it. :)

I don't think, generally speaking you can get a bad meal in icmeler. All I can say from experience is that I won't be going back to Lovestar again. Sidiks, Chef, all of the ones previously mentioned on other threads are fantastic.

Another great place for good Turkish home cooking is Meryem Yemek Evi - just up from Romance Palace on the other side of the road. No fuss or frills, no loud music or dancing waiters - just great food and great value too.

There are numerous good restaurants in icmeler and you will always have your own personal likes and dislikes ,what suits one does not suit another . Most restaurants have their regular returnees but it is also fun to try out new places.
You will be very unlucky to have a bad meal

Only problem about Temel Kofte, and we have been using them for many years, is Temel and his wife are no
longer there. The name is the same but it has been taken over so cannot guarantee the food as we only had
soup at lunch time. The two lads who were there seemed nice enough but dont know about the standard of cooking.

Silverfox I've only been back in the UK for 10 days, I last ate at Temel Kofte 11 days ago and can say that the food was excellent each and every time I was there.

Obviously I don't know how it compares to your experience in the past but I can definitely say that it was the best restaurant I used in the 3 weeks I was there. :)

I've heard a lot of good reviews about sidiq's (not sure on spelling) can someone please tell me where abouts it is? thanks in advance

Re: Restaurants

Sidik's is up in the old village. If you walk up the road past Romance Palace, etc keep going straight up till youget to the crossroads with the Love Star on one side and Wembley bar on the other. Cross straight over and walk up the side road where the Wembley bar is, and Sidik's is just a bit further up on the right.

thanks for your reply, I will defo go and see how good this place is, any recommendations on what's the best dish?

Re: Restaurants

We've had a few different dishes there and they've all been lovely, but I have heard they do a very good leg of lamb Like most places, you have to book it the day before as it's slow cooked.

Sidiks is in the old village. If you come up the main rd from town it is on the right just past traffic lights. Tell him jennie and Phil sent you. Have known Sidik many years, a lovely man and family!

I will do thanks for the info, heard so many good things about this place

Re: Restaurants

It is excellent in Sidik's, the lamb as someone has said is also one of the best. I treated my parents and also some friends to this dish and everyone was impressed big time. You will meet Eddie, just say Sam says hello chicken. He'll know exactly who that is. LOL.
