Tiberius i'm not trying to judge people just saying to folks don't go into the shop in the first place and none of this would have happened ,he's not exactly Sweeney "Mehmet" Todd the demon barber of Icmeler,i must say I will walk past his shop next year to see if he's still using the same tactics ,hopefully he's been shut down by then but luckily as i'm 6ft 4ins tall he'll get the message when I tell him where to go :x

I'll be trying to find this shop in September if the waster is still open.

It's shocking that they have been able to fleece so many people with their tactics.

I will be surprised if this shop is not open as this CON has been going on for years. The more people that complain to the Belediyesi (council) the more likely action will be taken.

If this is the place next to Friends then I've had experience of this creep. I've never felt unsafe or scared in Icmeler but this guy ruined a night out with friends for me and put me off going into town at night on my own for the rest of my stay.
I was in Wonder Boys with a group of lovely people from my apartments and realised that I wasn't far from Friends so decided to go see if my pal still worked there.
Just before I got there a guy called out to me saying I'd dropped my purse. I looked around, saw that I hadn't and went to walk on. He asked if I was looking for a haircut, I said no thank you as I'm on a night out but I may consider it another time as I did genuinely want my hair done while I was away.
Anyway he asked me inside the shop to give me his card and then started showing me style books to choose what I would have done when I went back.
I will repeat I genuinely wanted a haircut so I was completely taken in, going along with the banter etc.
He asked if I wanted a drink while we had the 'consultation' and I asked for cay, he said no cay it must be a cocktail. Immediately my guard went up! I refused, he insisted. I said my friend at Friends was waiting for me as were my friends at Wonder Boys. Before I knew it he'd whistled to someone outside and all of a sudden a 'cocktail' was shoved at me. There was absolutely no way I was even going to have a sip even though he was really pressurising me.
Again I said my friends were waiting and would be getting worried by now. He then told me to message my friends, lie and say I was with other friends so that I could go to a hotel with him for the night! I told him where to shove that idea but he didn't get the (heavy handed) hint and continued insisting that I would be having sex with him that night. This really pissed me off, I'm 45 years old, been going to and lived in Turkey for years so I thought I was fairly able to read the signs and look after myself but this **** really scared me.
I kept saying I needed to get back and eventually after realising I wasn't touching the drink, or him I was able to leave.
I more or less ran back to Wonder Boys but was looking over my shoulder the whole time.
Once there I couldn't settle as I'd told him that that's where my friends were and I was worried he might be hanging about later so I left and walked back to my aparts early while there were still plenty of people about.
I never went in to town at night again after that as he completely shook me up.
This guy needs sorting out and shutting down. I'm back in October and I still don't think I'd want to walk past there in the daytime let alone at night again.

That's awful, janeypoos - this creep really does need sorting out, and sooner rather than later!

Blondie if I'd have been younger and naïve who knows how it could have ended :(
Maybe there was nothing extra in the drink but there's no way I was going to risk it and the fact he wanted to so much sent alarm bells ringing. That and being told I would be sleeping with him! :x

thats a scary story! am i right in thinking that you can report this kind of thing and action is taken as its classed as hassle?
last year we made friends with a couple whos daughter was married to one of the waiters in our apartment and had been going to those apartments for years so had getting to know the owners as friends and they also had friendships with the mayor i think it was? anyway after one rather hassle filled trip to the market we came back to the apartment and sat round the pool with them and started telling them about our experience at the market - (got called names, swore at and even had our pushchair pulled back so we couldn't leave his stall, pretty scary when you have 3 children with you) - not knowing at the time that they had connections with the mayor/council (cant remember exactly who it was). She then got up and went away for a few moments and when she returned she assured us that he wouldn't be giving anyone hassle for a while as she had told her friend about it and he was going to sort it. She said that they dislike things like this in Turkey as it puts tourists off therefor reducing income alround and generally gives the place a bad name.
If this is the case and it can be reported and the person doing these things is closed down, does anyone know who to report it to? as if people are aware of what to do/who to contact, these people would not get away with doing it.
It put us off going to the market after the way we were treat and im sure we weren't the only ones as when we did get away from the stall holder he started shouting at someone else and swearing at them when they said no thanks. This was a stall selling boxer shorts.

You can dial 179 from any phone to contact the tourist advice line and report incidents like this, or hassle of any kind.

To be honest I just wanted to get away from him and home to my aparts where I knew I was safe. I was more annoyed at myself for being lured in, I should have known better but I thought I knew all the tricks, I never thought anyone would be that forceful and demanding though as I've never experienced it in Icmeler before.
Oh one time in 1999 I was in the apartments opposite Bahar with my son (then 2) and the night watchman (boy) decided to knock on my door at around 2am and try to get himself in.
I told a friend who worked there the next morning, by the afternoon the boy had been sacked and chucked out.

I can not understand grown men being taken in by these people,if he rubbed stuff on my nose there would have been red stuff running down his nose,i always have mine cut in Marmaris at the same place and my wife sits there watching me,they ask her once does she want hers doing and when she says no that is it they dont ask again, i will be going again in September even though i dont need my hair cutting.
