Another overhyped story by reporters

The Government website states the following

The FCO advise against all but essential travel to the provinces of Hakkari, Sirnak, Siirt and Tunceli. You should be especially vigilant when travelling in other provinces in south eastern Turkey and in areas in close proximity to the Syrian border

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/turkey

This has been in place for years and is 1000KM from Icmeler.

Today there are protests in Istanbul and Ankara, there is a small protest in Marmaris as well, if you happen to be in those areas and see a protest just walk in the opposite direction, it's the same advice I would give someone in the UK, unfortunately you will get the few who decide to cause trouble and thats when the police become involved.

Personally I am not concerned and unless the government specifically say don't go to Icmeler I am travelling.

Just seen on facebook that the protest im Marmaris was very peaceful and was by the Ataturk statue near the Marina, they have disappeared now and looks like they have gone home.

We have protests every day of the year in the UK with different leagues fighting in the road with police but people just get on with their daily life and also tourism goes on

I and lots of other people was lounging on a sunbed in Sharm El Sheik while all the troubles were going on in Cairo

The Foreign office today said, "stay away from demonstrations".

If I was in London and there was a National front or any demonstration on I would not go near it.

I have to agree with you JT. I am coming to Icmeler on Thursday and when I tell people the reaction is "you are not going there" - why not? I am not the least concerned and will do as you say - walk the other way if there is trouble.

Just returned from Icmeler - no trouble and even some Turkish people weren't sure what it was all about. Whilst there we booked another holiday through Icmeler Online for September. We have no fear of going again. Must say ICR is an excellent company to deal with. Many thanks to Elaine and Michelle

Well I live in Marmaris and work in Icmeler and I have not seen any protests going on. I have also spoken to a couple of our guests who have just come to Icmeler after a few days in Istanbul and they said they knew about the trouble but it was not happening where they were so just enjoyed there holiday no problem. Don't let those people who are not booked to come to Icmeler ruin your count down, because we are waiting for you in resort
