Stella Show

Postby LaneyICR » 08 May 2013 13:47

The Stella Show at the Harmony Bar in Icmeler opened last night and tickets are again on sale from the ICR Office. Apparently this year Stella has got 3 different shows, so this means more frocks and more glitz. Put a couple of dates aside in your diary while you are here to go and see him / her :D To book tickets please contact Michelle or myself.

Went to Stella show last night . The show is very entertaining my only gripe was when we got there it took the waiters an hour to serve us . Because it was busy we were only served three times all night . When the bill came it was 24 lira over what it should have been . When we ask the waiter we were told our drinks menu was from 2011 . He did say he was sorry but we did not get the money back .idont like to complain so left . As we were leaving a welsh family had the same menu they had been drinking cocktails all night there bill was 64 lira more than they thought it was.

I would have paid the bill minus the 24 plus minus the tip, if they had an issue then I would have demanded the Zabita to be called

Last year they didn't knock off the free drink on our bill, the same happened to the table next to us and I also read reports from other people of them doing the same on other nights. With the entrance fee and the place being packed most nights this must be one of the most profitable places in Icmeler.

I would still go to the show just be prepared.

The first drink is free as part of the entrance price, have something different for that first drink so you can identify it on the bill, try a cocktail or an exported drink, if it is left on the bill just ask them to knock it off, last year there wasn't a problem with that, I think they are just trying it on.

When you look at the menu check the price of the drink with the waiter, to be honest there will more feedback over the coming weeks so you will see if the overcharge down to the wrong prices on the menu was a one off, also as we spend about 5 hours there I always make a note of the drinks I order on a piece of paper as a double check due to maybe having too many myself.

Come on!!
Why should anybody save hard for their well earned holiday only to spend the night keeping one eye on the show and the other eye on the bill all night.
But hey, someone has to pay for the new frocks !!!
Come on guys & gals -- vote with your feet !!!
Definately a NO NO for us this year. ( and there is 8 of us )

I won't go to the Stella show either - now for two reasons.

1) The reasons as mentioned in this thread - I don't like being ripped off! I don't do it, so don't want it done to me!

2) Watching a man in drag is not really my 'cup of tea' - just seems so tacky and like a cheap UK resort act.

But for those of you who enjoy it, have a good time but watch them drinks and prices :)

Dave, although i dont know you i am a fairly regular user of this site and i can tell you are an Icmeler veteran, probably more so than me.
Now the Stella Show is not my cup of tea, never been, never going to go.
What surprises me is that they tried to have you over last year, along with other tables, they are doing it this year and you are still prepared to go, armed with a pen and paper to write down your nights drinks, then check it to see if you have been ripped off (again) !
How can you enjoy yourself when you have to keep count.
You know how it works in Icmeler Dave with the British, we dont put up with it.
No offence meant Dave but spend your money where you will appreciated.
Once again Dave no offence is meant.

Leon no offence is taken.

Why do I go, I go to see Michael, (Stella) we enjoy his show, he is an employee and not partner or owner.

I have seen the show over 10 times now and last year was the only problem I have had there, I will wait for more reports this year to make my decision to go or not regarding the incorrect menu pricing.

I actually carry a notepad around with me everywhere, As soon as I order that third or fourth drink I start jotting them down so I don't loose track, I even do it in the UK if I am on a tab system especially if I am staying a hotel and charging to my room and they don't ask me to sign for each drink as I order it. Also on holiday I tend to jot down what we have had, prices etc for my reviews.

In the end I have worked hard for my money, I check all bills, I check my change everytime wherever I am in the world, this week I am even checking any £10 notes I get in change from a £20 as there was a rook of forgeries floating around Chester last week after been passed off during the race week. (You get some looks in the shops/pubs as you check them, it's quite amusing)

In the end I will stand my ground if a bill is incorrect or I am given the wrong change but for me to see Michael's show it is worth the checks I need to do.

Finally I also correct bills if the mistake has been made in my favour, I will inform people if I have been undercharged, respect is a two way street, that actually happened twice last year as well, a brandy was missing from a restaurant bill and I was given change for a 50 Lira note when I had only given 40.

In the end it's up to each person to make there own informed decison, the beauty of this forum is we are given information to be able to decide.

Well said Dave, we go to see Michael too, we don't have a meal and I don't really drink much so I can make a mental note of what we have had and check the bill at the end of the night.

Ours was ok both times last year so I'm sure it will sort itself out as the season gets underway, there's always a few creases that need ironing out every year so to speak.

A good reply Dave and as you say the forum is here to help us make informed decisions.
Come to think of it our 23 year old daughter is coming with us this year so a notepad and pen might be a good idea to jot down all the " i will square you up later dad moments " :D .
Have a good one this year.
