Fish restaurants

Hi everybody, can anyone recommend a nice restaurant for seafood either Icmeler or Marmaris, thanks.

I am not a great fish lover but when we were down at Marmaris marina last year I couldn't believe some of the fish dishes being served in the restaurants, they looked fantastic.

Be careful though when ordering some of the menus quote the price per 100g so it can get expensive but if I wanted a variety of fish to choose from instead of the standard Sea Bass or Swordfish I would definatley head that way.

If you've never tried the fish in salt, I would definitely recommend giving it a go. you usually have to order in advance, but it's lovely. I'm a bit funny about fish and can't eat it if I find even the smallest of bones in it, but we had it at the Bonjour and the guys assured me they would make sure every bone was taken out, and they were true to their word. Surprisingly, it doesn't taste at all salty, but just keeps the fish beautifully moist...

Deniz restaurant in Marmaris marina next door to where Natalies steak house was (didnt look like it would be there this year) is my favourite

Fresh calamari in the afternoon with a few beers is great, lots of different fish on the menu and cater for Turks so not the usual " same old food" that is caterd for the UK people

There are a few in that area and just off the Marina too where you can eat "proper" fish and have a glass of Raki or two with the locals

I'm the same as Blondie. I would literally heave if i find a bone in my fish. That's why I won't order it. Pity because I would like to try something other than chicken or steak

I have had some lovely fish dishes in Bonjour, Love Boat and Sidik's but I always make sure that the fish is not looking at me by asking for the head to be removed before serving and all bones and so far it has worked out fine for me. Sidik's asked me to give them 24 hours notice as they don't use frozen fish, which I was happy to do, so make sure beforehand if intending to have fish that it will be available and you are not disappointed.

Most of the restaurants in Icmeler will do fantastic fish for you (I've always enjoyed the Sea Bass) and it is as good as anything you will get in the UK.

Really get yourselves to the marina in Marmaris as the fish is brought in either from the boat or the varietys they have are sourced from the sea

Most of the fish you will find in the restaurants in Icmeler as in bass and bream are farm fish and can be picked up cheaply in the supermarkets or even from the fishmonger.

You can tell straight away the difference in taste of a farmed to ocean fish

There is nothing like sitting at a marina eating fish taken straight from the water your looking at. Marmaris has got to be the first choice but I do agree that Sidik's is also a good shout. Myself and a friend went last year and Katie really fancied fish that night, I said it may prove hard to find as you do need to order in advance. We went to Sidik's and as luck would have it some customers who had ordered fish had cancelled.
We did have sea bass and Sidik even came to the table to remove the head and bones. Katie was impressed and so asked to be shown what to do, so that night she had a lesson at the table on how to bone a fish. Lovely evening. Then the wine began to flow.........
