Thanks very much Sami, so I'm just a 'someone' now

Have always loved the legs of lamb and it is definitely enough for three (unless you're a big meat eater). Don't know if it's true but we were told last year that the legs for all the restaurants were cooked in the same place and then delivered ready cooked to the individual restaurants.

Not sure if that's true, because we've had the leg of lamb in a few places and it's been different in each one...always good though! :D

Sirkyboy
Sidiks is run by..............Sidik who was a waiter at the Effes Inn, he worked at the Effes for many years with his brother Mehmet and cousin Erdal. Erdal also works at Sidiks and Mehmet is running the restaurant next to the Efendi, on the front. A senior moment has made me forget the name of that hotel. Visited them both last year several times

I can vouch for Sidiks. You will have to order it the day before as they are slowly cooked in the heat from the bakery ovens in the old village once the have finished baking the breads.

We've enjoyed this at several places including Bullshits [now YOLO], Majestic, Venice, Vinces and Champagne - not all on the same holiday haha. Really don't think that it was cooked elsewhere and shipped in, and though they were all different, we liked every one of them and would be hard pushed to pick a favourite - especially as the chefs can change from year to year  All I can say is, I won't hesistate to have it again at any of the above!

We had one at Captain Sinbads and were disappointed, it wasn't quite up to scratch - it was good, but wouldn't rush back even though we may just have been unlucky cos lots of folk rave about the food there, so I think maybe it was a one off

Well thank you to all who recommended sidiks. Absolutely lovely. Went Saturday for a drink and to order lamb. Ended up staying the night had a wonderful meal with welcoming company to boot.

Best lamb I have ever had and the casserole on Saturday was pretty damned good also.

Hope to get back there again before we go home.

Well, we did tell you! Glad you took our advice and tried it. I cannot wait to take my parents there next month as I know they will love it. Its not the best location but who cares when the staff are so attentive and just make the night what it is. Enjoy the rest of your holiday :)

We ( Donna and I ) will be going back to Sidiks again this year, cant fault the place and of course we will be having lamb on one of our visits, like Sami said the location is not the best, but when your food is that good who cares.

Would like to say a big thank you to everyone who recommended Sidik's for leg of lamb. We had our first leg of lamb on our first visit in 2006 it was delicious. We have had a few since but nothing was as nice as the first one. Hubby keeps wanting to get one each year but i wasn't prepared to pay the money on the off chance it would be nice. After reading the reviews on here about Sidik's we decided to give it a try. It was delicious. It just melted in your mouth and tasted lovely. My mouths watering writing this.It cost 90 lira but was worth every penny and there was more than enough for the two of us.We had another two meals in Sidik's and cant recommend Sidik's highly enough
