Easyjet Flights Sept/Oct 2013

Postby dotty » 06 Dec 2012 12:25

Have just been advised this morning that Easyjet flights are now available for Sept/Oct next year. I've been waiting for these to become available as the last lot which were released a couple of months ago were only up to 8th September. However I went ahead and booked a one-way flight for 7th September at that time, with the intention of booking the return flight when the date became available. Big mistake - the price of a one-way flight for 2 people Dalaman-Edinburgh is £757. How are they able to get away with charging this amount, the outward flight is only £175 each.

Needless to say I have booked through Thomas Cook (Freebird flight) at a total cost of £333.

Flights from Edinburgh are outrageously priced at the best of times (not just to Dalaman) - we've found it a nightmare trying to get reasonably priced flights from Edinburgh, and that's trying various airlines.

We have twice flown from Edinburgh on a Monarch flight but we booked with Thomsons, who had sub-contracted to Monarch. Great flights with good legroom at no extra cost. We spoke with someone in Icmeler this year who had flown from Edinburgh with Monarch so maybe worth enquiring into for the future.

I didn't realise that Sunlover, thought Thomson would use their own planes. I'll certainly look out for Monarch in future but for now have booked with Tommy Crook who were half the price of Easyjet :)

Easyjet have added roughly two weeks to their Manchester flights, up to 19th September now. Just booked 9th-19th September, £340 for two people with luggage included. You have to get in there quick though, the return flight has already gone up by £45 from when I booked it a few hours ago.

1st time we went to Turkey we flew from Edinburgh with Monarch altho we had booked with TC. Declined the offer of meals on the TC website but got them anyway as the steward told us "everyone gets a meal on a Monarch flight". The rest of the plane was raging!

Sueles, I imagine what bikerjambo meant was that those who had paid for a meal wouldn't be too happy when they were handed out to everyone - whether they had paid or not! :D

Unfortunately easyjet dont fly from Newcastle to Dalaman but have a few options. Jet2 from newcastle return in August for 3 with all the add ons!!!(£161.96) £1420.00. Leeds bradford same times roughly £1175.94. Glasgow leaving on Fri 9th £965.94 plus the add ons, but if we leave on the thursday 8th only £686.94 plus the add ons. Me thinks we might be flying from Glasgow next summer, even with the extra fuel and car parking it wouldnt be anywhwere near £600 !!

Have a look at Manchester. We've flown from there the last 2 years with J2 as it's cheaper than Newcastle and they fly on a Saturday, the parking is also a lot cheaper.
