Hopefully they will change it before next year. At the moment the new area where the stalls are has nothing to entice you to have a look around and the big grassy area in front of it doesn't help. It looks messy. The way it used to be was so much better and had much more of an atmosphere, It was nice to have a browse around in the evening and always drew a lot of people to the area. This year it was always very quiet any time I went there day or night. The lighting around the canal is not as nice now either.

We spoke to a stall holder in the new area and he said the rent is more than double than the old canal stalls and they were not having as many customers as they have had to raise their prices.
He said he wasnt sure if he would be back next year.
Its a shame as the whole canal seems to have lost its atmosphere.

It is a real shame, Peli - because as we all know, most of those lads work their socks off, very long hours for very little money, and that's if they even see the money they're owed. Times are tough throughout the world right now and Icmeler is no exception. Hope all our friends survive these hard times and return to open up again next season.
