Cheap Airfare and expensive resort?
Which ever question gives the answer Icmeler is the one I will go for.
I still think the resort is excellent value for money especially if the echange rate is 2.5+
Roll on July 29th 2013

I too went to Turgetreis in 2011 (Akyarlar to be precise) and yes it was more expensive than last year in Icmeler. We were paying between 6-8 TL for an Efe's. Last year it was between 4.5-6TL at most places we drank at.madmackem wrote:...Do you really need to eat in a resturant every night ? Not something we do at home...
Well there's a lot of things we don't do at home - sunbathe in glorious sun every day, drink vast quantities of alcohol (ok, some may do lol), walk around at snails pace due to searing heat and lack of urgency, swim in the pool or sea every day amongt other things.
I like to think that I save all year for 2 glorious, stress free weeks and I like to eat nice food on holiday so for me, yes I do need to eat in a restaurant every day on holiday - it''s all part of the experience.
I appreciate some people may be on a budget (believe me, I've been there) and there's nothing worse than having to count everything you spend and putting so much aside for each day. Surely it's worth scrimping a few extra pounds to enjoy the holiday experience a bit more, even if it's saving £1 or £2 coins in a jar (a lot of people on here do that). We did it last year and over 8 months we had almost £500...
Luckily for us, I have an additional job as a mobile DJ and pull in, on average, around £1,000 per month - that is all extra so a lot of it goes towards my holiday fund. It's hard work but I enjoy doing it - here's my normal weekly schedule:
Mon - Wed - up at 6am for work at 8am - 5pm, home for 6pm (an hour travelling each way)
Thur - up at 6am - home at 11:15pm - quiz night in local pub after work
Fri - up at 6am, home at 3am (Sat) - Disco in a venue approx 30 miles from home after work
Sat - usually disco from 6pm - midnight or 1am (weddings, birthdays anniversaries etc.)
Sun - mostly day off but will do a disco if one comes in.
I believe in the motto, "work hard, play hard" so my 2 weeks holiday is a relaxing and quality time with my wife and daughter and definitely worth the hard work schedule in my opinion

It's all legit, the taxman gets his cut. I've got nothing to hide

madmackem wrote:I get your drift sunseeker2011, and agree with you that a holiday is what it is, a chance to do something totally diffrent from home, my point was that there are ways in which you can budget a holiday if you need to. Its never happened to us but I imagine it would be a complete nightmare if during a 2 week holiday half way through the second week you start to run short.
