The Winters Over

Postby redrhino12 » 08 Feb 2007 11:28

Heres me thinking the winter was over,
Three days ago Ann and I were sat outside at the lakes drinking coffee under a warm sun.

Surprise,Surprise, woke up this morning to find everything outside covered in a thick blanket of snow.
First decision to be made was,
I am not going to work in this weather.
This could be due to the fact I have been retired these last 6 years.
There was no chance of me getting in the garden so I decided to sit at my computor and browse every web site I could find that had pictures and storries on Icmeler.
I got that excited looking at the Icmeler pictures and videos that the wntery scene outside was soon forgoten.

My skin is so pale now all hints of those fantastic tans we get on our holidays gone, I crave now for my, "Icmeler Sunshine Fix".
I think back to those sweltering days in August when the heat was to much
and Ann and myself used to jostle each other to get under the brolly to escape the suns rays, moving our beds only when the sun moved and the shade was gone.
Beckoning to the waiter to bring me over two pints of "Ice Cold Efes".
The first pint not even touching the lips as it was gulped down in one.
The second pint I just layed back and savoured that unforgetable taste.
The thoughts of consuming my first Efes on my holidays has started me drooling in the corners of my mouth.

Yes maybe the Snow is here but my holidays are not far behind.

I look out the window the snow is falling
I can only but dream of my favourite place,
It needs no introduction; we all know and love it
The count down to June has started, and so has the diet
The boss thinks I’m busy working and typing away
I suppose I’d better stop daydreaming for the rest of the day

Lots of snow here today, about 5 to 6 inches.

It is mostly thawed now but we are in for a very cold spell tonight!

Roll on May! I can feel the warmth!

:( No snow here either. I was hoping to get snowed in so I wouldn't have to get up at 5.30a.m. for work today or tomorrow. :D
