For years I had an ointment from the GP for recurrent mouth ulcers called Orabase/Adcortyl. A few years ago it was taken off the prescription list and you could buy it over the counter. A couple of years ago they stopped it altogether. On checking online you could buy it from Australia but it would cost about £12 a tube. Popped into the pharmacy near the fountains to see whether you could get it in Turkey and it was available for the brilliant price of 5 lira. It is exactly the same and is called Kenacort - A Orabase Pomad. Nothing else that is available from the pharmacies at home work but this ointment is absolutely brilliant. Have stocked up so even if a disaster happens next year and we can't go on holiday at least I'll be ulcer-free

Thats great. Doesn't surprise me though. My Sister has recccuring ear infections due to a perforated ear drum and she always stocks up on her usual antibiotic ear drops when in
Icmeler as it's a fraction of the cost of a prescription here. My Mum who was a pharmacist for years says it will only be a matter of time before they stop doing it here and bring out a cheaper less effective alternative as it has happened with quite a few things. Am starting to hate this Country more and more.
