There are probably people who have paid less but I've booked with Monarch, 25th June to 6th July, 23kg luggage and extra leg room seat £289 for one person.

Thanks for your replies everyone, wow looks like the days of cheap flights really have gone. They're not too bad if you can leave before the kids break up, but after that the airlines just want to fleece you.

Manchester to Dalaman with Monarch end of July 2013, extra leg room seats, 23Kg of luggage for £419 each including the 4% credit card charge.

I think 2014 may be our last trip during school holidays as our youngest will be leaving 6th form and hopefully starting University.

This year passengers have been hit with increases in fuel, airport charges and air passenger taxes. From this the Inland Revenue are making more than the Holiday / Operators.

wow Gene, that is a really good deal, lucky you :) , unfortunately we have to go in school holidays and the only cheap deals we ver had were with Agean and Onur air :(. unfortunately we have to pay school hoilday prices but I do not earn teachers wages as I am have two jobs, a dinner lady and a school cleaner, it really winds me up  you only have to look at the jump in prices to see when the school holidays are, anyway glad you got a bargain.

Haven't been on a package holiday in years as we usually book flights and accommodation separately. As the flights were so expensive this year we checked the package holidays and the apartments we wanted were available through Thomson. By deducting the cost of the apartment etc out of our total cost we would have needed to get a flight for £212 to beat their price. The lowest we could get was £311. So we've booked for two weeks from 29th June. :)
