I wish......

Postby Sami » 13 Jul 2012 10:02

...... that Icmeler was a little bit closer so that I could pop over for weekends. I am constantly looking for long weekend flights as I know a place to stay would be easy to find but the flights are hard to find and expensive too. Such a pity. :(

I have thought about this before. Not sure if its such a good idea as I've done working abroad before and its not the same as being on holiday. Its pretty hard graft and you don't get that much spare time to do the beach, pool etc.

I wish Nurses were paid a lot more money so that I could go to Icmeler several times a year!
As long as I can go each year I'm happy :)

Nurses should be paid more in my opinion (but that's a whole new subject).

See you on the boat trip Karen - not long now :)

If I am going by the last one I did. You meet at the ICR office at about 9. They take you down to the jetty and you board. Once everyone is on board, you leave Icmeler around half 9-10. Once out of the harbour area you can start drinking. We go back about 5 last time and then went to Zaza's bar for a beer afterwards, oh my days I was drunk that evening!!

Justin, if its the one in August (I am sure we're on the same wave length here) then there are about 30 people I think. But there is plenty of room on the boat whether you like to be laying full on in the sun all day or sitting downstairs. Loads of swim stops (water is very cooling  ) and drink all day. Lunch is served about 1 o'clock by the lovely staff, though I did help out a little with the cutlery and stuff.

It'll be a gooden! And by all accounts I think its going to be a hot one too!

Actually, not sure we are on same wavelength - I meant is it just you or are you with friends / partner? I know there'll be around 30 people altogether lol

I'm there with my wife and 15 year old daughter :)

I reckon it will be great fun - I love boat trips.

So... is your name Sam?

Justin, yes sorry. My name is Sam (antha) and there is me and a friend of mine Katie. It is her first time to Turkey let alone Icmeler and we're both really looking forward to it a lot. We arrive on Tuesday 31st July and the boat trip is on the Friday so might have a bit of a tan going on by then. (JT are you coming on this one matey?)

Its such a lovely day out and breaks up the week from laying by the pool the whole time, though that is what I go for.

That's what i normally go for too but with a 15 year old daughter in tow this year i think she will want more 'action' than just sat around the pool / sea lol

I know boat trips are fun, went on one last year and had a blast even though it was crammed full... This one should be sooo much better :D

Justin, I can assure you it will be so much better than one of those ones where you are elbow to elbow trying to put your suntan lotion on. I hate it when its so crammed you are near on sitting on the person's lap next to you! ...... well it could be fun!! LOL
No, this one will be a blast and like I say, with free flowing drinkies all day, it'll be a giggle for sure.
