Kids beach shoes and child friendly eateries...

Postby johannah » 04 Jul 2012 15:11

Hello, first post but have been doing lots of reading on the forum.
Am off to Icmeler on July 14th with partner and 3 children 8)
So quick questions - Beach/water shoes for kids- are there plenty of choice to buy there and how much? or would I be better off buying here before I go so we get the right size/colour etc?
2nd question - from what I've read and heard Turkey sounds like a child friendly country in general but are there any places to eat in Icmeler that are really well catered towards small children, thinking good highchairs, maybe small play area, toys - that kind of thing?
3rd and final question - will be on a very tight budget (as I'm sure lots of others will be) am thinking of a few essential items as self catering that would be cost effective to bring over from UK, small boxes of cereal, coffee,t bags so far on my list. What about squash/cordial cost over there? Is it even something that's widely available? Any other items I should be taking to save pennies?
Many thanks

Hello, I remember buying my niece some beach shoes from one of the markets so I'm sure u will be able to find them out there. The Turkish are really friendly an love the children, so I'm sure they will keep them occupied whilst ur in the bars/restaurants. As for self catering, there was a post on her a while ago with many ideas for meals to have in ur room, such as noodles and pasta & sauces. I will try and find the post and send it to you! Enjoy your hols :D

Hi there are lots of places selling beach shoes and some of the resturants on the road leading to the beach have bouncy castles this year and electric cars they can use they are near the tourist office and the fountains, kids were having a great time while mums and dads were having a drink or meal. :D :)

Brilliant, free go in a Toyota Prius

In all serious, Icmeler market (on a Wednesday) should see you right for most stuff, shoes & food.
The fruit is cheap enough and the Nectarines are huge and really juicy.

Sylvia - I love your triple posting, you trying to get your post count up lol
