Easily amused!!!!!

Postby carol0912 » 30 Jun 2012 17:35

Found myself, as usual, watching the webcam.
Find it so funny watching people come from the left and look right before crossing the road.
We all do it.
Still can't get used to the traffic on the opposite side of the road from us.

Yes we all do it. Watch a little bit longer and you will see Turks that have no idea what a roundabout is for. Its mostly scooter riders, obviously no training or test. Even the car and van drivers park so that nobody can get round on occasion. But hey ho thats Turkey! and thats why we love it.

Not forgetting the ZEBRA crossings that nobody stop at, something for newbies to beware of when crossing the road! :D

Yes, I am aware of the difference in priority on roundabouts in Turkey, but didn't realise that you could ignore the fact that there is a roundabout in existance. Just chop the thing off at will, if you feel like it, by going round it the wrong way.

Pedestrian crossings in Icmeler are target areas for bored taxi drivers

A'n it's all part of the charm and adventure.

Thats why we love it.

what are the zebra crossings for exactly? as i noticed this the last time that no one stops at them, so they are obviously not for pedestrians crossing like here in England??
