Does anyone know who can tell

CATS - has there been a 'cull' on cats? as the ones I have become familiar with in our area seem to have 'disappeared' even when I call on them with food & there seems to be very few around, or is it simply this hot spell that they are taking shelter in the shade? I know Ali is still doing his rounds to feed them but even around his former house (& he used to have more than 40 cats!! )there are none except at Tez Tours office. We only have one on our street.

DOGS - seen mention on forum of a dog sactuary/home in the town; where is it & what can people do to help?

Awe it's in the old village nor far from tommys bar quite a walk from the main centre there are a lot of dogs there we went therein April we took loads of treats for them it's very sad to see them all but they all look well.

Roy if you are bored then get to Tommys bar in the village and then follow the Turunc road until you find the dogs home

They will gladly let you walk the dogs

BORED JT ?? haven't got the time not enough hours in the day nor days in the week; just taking an active interest in what goes on in the town (apart from usual); we are animal lovers & did voluntary work with animal charity before coming out here & will certainly visit dog home; is there any cat organisation or charity in Icmeler?
Nobody has posted anything about the cats yet I see.

There were lots of cats a couple of weeks ago, particularly along the road from Rush to Avlu1. Perhaps it is the heat. I'm a bit of a cat person, so if anyone does know of a cat charity in Icmeler, I'd be very happy to lend my support

Hi I am from Icmeler Animal Welfare and work in the dogs home with Semin our turkish patron and yes we are only 2 people and hace anything from 50-60 dogs we also look after the street cats and in the winter we neuter as many as we can we have to do catch and release as no cats home here. The numbers of cats has gone down some due to natural causes , cat flu which w ehad in the winter BUT we never cull any animal and in saying that there are certain local and buisnesses who take it upon their selves to do this and I just ran a petition which i presented to the mayor about all aspects of animal cruelty and named as many persons as I knew for def. so I am waiting nw as have been promised that all the points raised will be dealt with I must say he was very angry abot some of the things I told him. If it doesnt improve Semin and I will go further will give him a chance today in fact is a big meeting with the Beledere ( COUNCIL) police and vet will let you know what happens.
I have a facebook group called Icmeler Animal Welfare please join and you will see a lot more of what we do you are all very welcome to visit the dogs home this time of year we get lots of walkers for the dogs and they love it, i dont spend much time on computer but check my group page everyday in case of reports about ??? JT can always contact me if you want to arrange a visit it has to be in the mornings as to hot afternoons thanks Jan.

Yeah Noodles thanks, I know where you mean, it's close by & one of the places I go to feed the cats but they're not there as I've been on the lookout for certain ones but will keep looking.

Aha yes it was doing my head in where I had seen lots of cats and it was on corner side of Alvaro and facing Rush

There were loads of them so I guessed they were waiting for a regular feed

Roy - thanks for the thought, not sure my two furry ones would like any other brothers or sisters just now, there's barely enough room in "their" flat for me, I expect I'll be evicted if the kitten army gets any bigger!
