Postby the gabb » 09 Jun 2012 09:35

I am staying at the Devamli Hotel on 28th June which looks like a nice hotel but for one thing the pool it looks really small so I was wondering if I could use the pool of another hotel and if so could you name a few that would welcome us

Most places will be happy to let you use the pool and other facilities providing you buy some drinks or food while you're there. Just have a wander around and ask if you see somewhere you fancy.

Selen 11 will let you use the pool if you buy drink or food. although I think most places are the same , if you buy something you're usually welcome . enjoy your holiday. :)

The Alvaro which is just behined were you are staying will also let you use their pool. They have 2 good sized pools one that has a water slide going into it and is turned on at 11,1,3 and 5 for half an hour each time.

Oh and they also have a small kiddies pool.

If you fancy a quiet Old Village setting, try Rhodes Apartments, across the road from Club Daystar. Tolga and his staff will make you feel very welcome. Plenty of sunbeds and if I may say so, one of the best kept pools in Icmeler. His restaurant area is nicely shaded and the food is excellent and good value. Drinks are always worth buying too of course to keep your thirst quenched. Enjoy people! :D

This is a sensitive subject about people using other pools,so much so that last year at the Rhodes a guest there ended up having a massive bust up with Tango because after many years of visiting the apartments he was unable to get beds due to outside guests reserving beds over night.
I have also seen this happening where large groups stay elsewhere then drop in ,to see a couple of guests staying at the apartments you have chosen and taking over the place.
This can then lead to the people staying at a chosen apartment moving out for the day or longer and then not spending any time or money there or become upset with the holiday they picked.
I am sure this could raise opinions either way and we are all out to enjoy our holidays,
Hotels etc are selected for a past experience or somebody saying how quiet it is there and in general have a pro rata beds to rooms or less in most cases,I think owners should be careful which way they go in the case of guest v visitor.

I really do not think people should be allowed to use other hotel/apt. pools. We always stay at the Babadan apts. because of the pool sizes, however they do not have a huge amount of sun beds, so when you cannot get a bed thats just the way it is and better luck the next day! but when you are lying on one of the kids lilos and someone near you has a few beds who are not even staying in the apartment this can be very annoying. When you book your holiday if its a large pool you want then look for the right place for you.

I must agree with you that yes it is the most frustating thing when you are unable to get a sunbed at the apartments you are staying at. I am not really a beach person as i like to have everything i need close at hand. However i have used the pool and sunbeds at apartments I was not staying at because i also could not get a sunbed at the apartments i was staying at, but there was no residents at the apartments when i was using the pool so i did provide custom for them as i would have breakfast and lunch there + drinks during the day. I would not have used the pool or sunbeds if i was depriving a resident of a sunbed that is a NO NO. During the second the apartments did have guests but there was still about 20 sunbeds spare.

Think I would be annoyed if outsiders came to use pool where I was staying and I couldn't get a bed.
Think this subject could have views from all sides :x :x
