Haven't been able to establish if they are free but there are certainly lots of them about. Take a look at the beach web-cam.'

There is one place on the on the beach, near Fantasia hotel, which charges. I think it might be council
owned. Quite spacious, and about 2 or 3 lira each last year.

Hi can you tell me what Kontes/heaven beach boys Omar, berat and dino are doing if not charging for sunbeds. are they just doing bar service on beech!! Be pretty gutted though if they can't save my sunbeds which I have done for last 10yrs! There are probs charging customers 2.5 ytl to save them a space near front. More than one way to skin a cat 9 days until we are there.

Hi All,

So do you just find your own sunbed now....are there no beach boys on the beach, and do they still come on the beach to serve you from the bars.....If that's the case, I'm sure a lot o people will miss the banter, an small talk that goes on with the beach boys.....

There are some parts of the beach where the sunbeds are 'free' - and these are normally linked to particular bars and hotels. They are free, but you're expected to buy some drinks or food during your stay on the beach in return. It's fine if that's what you want, but can be a bit annoying if you prefer to take your own things and be left in peace.
There are also stretches of the beach where you pay upfront for your sunbeds (2.50TL each last season) and then you can do whatever you fancy. It's entirely up to you which you prefer.

When I was in Icmeler last week we used the sunbeds in front of Kontes. As someone already had told you it´s free but the guys from Kontes probably expects you to order something (the still wants to earn money). We bought some icecream and a beer (what a mix  ) , but they wasn´t in your face or trying to make you order, so it was really good. Sorry I cant say anything about the other places. If you dont want to use sunbeds at all, there is some part of the beach where you can just lay out your towel in the sand to, but thats not for me :)
