Escape Lounge - Manchester T1

Postby Raynard » 22 May 2012 03:42

Hi,
I have been toying with the idea of booking into the Escape Lounge at Manchester Airport T1 while waiting for our flight to our favorite place next month. If any of you guys can give me any feedback about it I would be very grateful.

Hi Raynard,

We used The Escape Lounge last year and it was fine. we got there about 6am and we were given a choice of either a bacon sarnie or a sausage one. We had that and a few beers and some toast and cereal while we relaxed waiting for our flight. We are booked in again this year :)

We went in last year and it's ok, only thing I didn't like is that there were no windows as it isn't airside. We are trying to book one of the other lounges this year.

We had an afternoon flight and had a selection of paninis and crisps etc, it is worth booking one if you like a few drinks before you fly lol

We're booked in here Friday morning so will let you know. I get a free pass with my bank account so it's worth it for that alone, toyed with the other lounges but after reading lots of reviews went for the escape lounge. Flying 9am so it'll be bacon sarnies! :D

I get the entry from being a Barclays Premier account holder.
We always use the lounges when we go away and coming back (Dalaman CIP lounge is good as we pig out on the food there and we aren't paying the crazy prices that they charge at the food court) :)

Thanks for your input guys it's appreciated. Still can't make my mind up because I like to have a few pints before I fly to alleviate my fears of being in the air but my BH just has a chocolate drink and a chocolate muffin so maybe it is not a great economical option.

Quick questions - when you book into the VIP lounges how soon before your flight can you use it and do you get priority check in?

Most of them can be used for up to three hours before your flight and I don't think you would get priority check in I'm afraid.
