Baby food/milk/nappies etc .... Help

Postby KatyAwwad » 08 May 2012 13:55

Hi.

Any help advice would be great. Off to icmeler in 2 weeks with my 6 month old baby and family. Have been going to icmeler for 13 years but 1st time with a baby.

Does the Tansas in icmeler (by old town) sell baby products. I.e Sam baby milk ( in case we rn out) pampers or alternative nappies, swim nappies and baby jar food. An advice for taking a baby to icmeler. With regards to the fruit etc...would eh be ok for the baby to eat. She loves cucumber, mangos and strawberries!

Any advice would be great. Thanks Katy

we first had our son to Icmeler when he was 1. We bought nappies over there no problem but never had to buy jars of baby food or milk so not to sure on that one but im sure someone will be able to tell you.
Our son still had a bottle of baby milk on a night time and we just took lots of the ready made up sachets -that you just pour into the sterilised water- with us, you can buy them from boots and asda etc.
I would think your little one would be ok with the fruit etc especially if it is something he has had before as long as it is washed tec just the same as you would do here. I would maybe not try anything new whilst on holiday just incase baby has an allergic reaction. Maybe speak to your health visitor before you go and she might be able to give you a bit more advice
Have a great holiday

You wil get most things you need for baby over there. Don't take loads of nappies and use up your allowance as you can get Pampers(called Prima over there) another good brand we used was Molfix, these were cheaper than Prima and really quite good. Wipes are cheap enough but take nappy sacks as have never seen these in Turkey.

Swim nappies are available too but quite expesnive so take your own or you could buy some of the reusable swim pants which save on pennies and on room in your case, just wash them out and dry them after use and they are ready to use again!

I only ever seen Aptamil formula and it is quite expensive. I bought a microwave steraliser from Asda for a couple of pounds it took 6 mins and done 2 bottle at a time, otherwise you could always take milton tablets and a tupperware box or a plastic juice bottle cut in half would do the trick.

You can get jars of baby food quite cheap in most supermarkets, lots of fruit puree flavours and breakfasty type ones but oneo or 2 meaty variety available.

Our aparts only had a shower in them when we had our 6 month old son with us so we bought a wee paddling pool in the supermarket and use it as a bath in the apartment.

Also took some cartons of ready made formula for the plane journeys and a pack of Disposable bottles from Boots saved us lugging empty bottles on the plan.

Anything else you can think of just ask and have a nice holiday!

The nappies are fine although I would advise that you bring enough of your formula. I bought special steralised bags which come in a roll and go inside your bottle and you make your formula in these - it saves you steralising and means you don't need to bring loads of bottles.
