Package Holiday but want Private Transfer

Has anyone previously booked their holiday as a package through one of the tour company's, then booked their own transfer to resort. We have booked and have coach transfer included however don't fancy the long drive and drop offs, want to book with ICR if this would be possible. What do you tell the Travel Company?? Any advice welcome.

I've done this and just found the travel rep for the coach transfer at Dalaman and just told them I've booked a private transfer so won't be travelling with them.

Hi Wilts,
Same answer as Eatock, Find your Travel rep, let them know you have a private transfer, so then you will not hold that bus up, as they will be looking for you,, Then find the Icr kiosk, and you will be away as soon as luggage is loaded.

find your travel rep at dalaman arrivals and tell them that you wont be travelling on the coach so they can take you off their list so that you dont hold the coach up
all should go well
good choice to take a private transfer well worth it

Yes as all the others. We always book a private transfer even if on a package. Even if only on arrival, at least then you will be in lovely Icmeler in record time!!! The reps don't mind as long as you tell them you won't be travelling on the coach.

Thats the only bit I dread is the journey from Dalaman to Icmeler dropping off at Marmaris and most of the time the driver gets losts ha ha. So does anyone know how much for a private transfer for 2 with ICR ?

Hubby and I were considering this as the transfer by the tour operator takes so long. You have answered part of what we need to know, but the other part is...will the tour operator pick you up from your hotel and take you back to Dalaman at the end of your holiday, or will they say, on yer bike and arrange your own transfer? You have paid for the return coach transfer so they are contractually obliged to pick you up. But even so, why would they say that?

If it wasn't for the fact that we are arriving late at night and it's not worth it, I would be booking a one way transfer myself.

The Icr transfer is a Return transfer......So you don't need the coach and can stay that little longer in resort, and still get to the airport before the coach..

Steve, it's £50 each way £100 Return. Personally I don't mind the journey back to the airport and quite enjoy watching others getting picked up, saying goodbye etc. So, would rather spend the other £50 on Efes!

Thanks Steve and Tim for the replies. When we went in to ask our booking agent (TC) a couple of weeks ago they said that they didn't know, but said that they would have thought that if you didn't take up the transfer going, there may be a problem for the return and to speak to the rep whilst we are there. So thanks guys, looks like we will be booking a private transfer a bit nearer the time

Lst year my other half booked mini bus transfer threw Hayes travel, got picked up outside Tansas, supermarket, and went straight to airport, only cost £14 return, got the ticket there and then from Hayes travel would recommend it

when we have booked a package holiday, i have done my transfers through ICR, got to the airport and just told the rep there we wouldnt be on the coach going to icmeler...no problems...

there are a lot of transfer companies but ICR seem to be one of the best
very efficient service and at a good price
well worth it
