Transfers

Postby LouisexXx » 01 May 2012 09:06

Okay so we booked our transfers along with our holiday, but can someone just tell me roughly how long the transfer is from dalaman to icmeler? And also if its worth getting a taxi instead, and if it is how would i do this - are there liscensed taxis at the airport or what?
Thanks :)

if you are booked on a coach with your tour company a typical transfer for a full coach can take around 3 hours

A taxi to Icmeler from the airport would cost around £60

You could if you want book either a shuttle bus, which is normally a minibus fro around £15 per person return this takes around 1 hour 40 minutes. You could book a private transfer which takes arouind 1 H 20 minutes and costs around £80/£100 return

think this is down to how you feel yourself, this is our 9th time & always seem to arrive at night or early hours, 1or 2am, so i would'nt pay extra to get there quicker, but if i was arriving daytime, possibly, yes. i actually like the coach journey to icmeler, it's the coming back i can't stand...lol, the stop off is a pain though, unless you smoke, but if you booked with a package your transfers are paid for, have a sleep on the coach, works for me.

It only takes around 1.5 hours - depending on how many drop offs....

I use Transfers4U it costs £9.45 per person including case and they are pretty reliable :-)

Used them in Portugal as well...

Trasfers included in the holiday usually take around 3 hours but it depends on how many stops off they have
Private transfer can be booked with ICR and is £100 return
Little more expensive but well worth every pound
Person waiting for you at the airport with your name on a board and takes you directly to icmeler door to door in about 90 mins
Private car or minibus and fully air conditioned
We use a private transfer every year and would never go back to the coach buses again

We have booked with ICR for August.
Last year we used the transfer that was in with the price of the package holiday.
Took us less than 2 hrs, including the stop off, but think we were lucky, as when we arrived in Marmaris, we transferred on to a private mini bus, an were then taken direct to the hotel.
Like somebody else said, if your arriving in the day time, then I guess it would make sense to pay for a transfer.
We arrived at 1am, and didn't see the point in spending an extra £100 or so to get there half hour quicker, when it's pitch black, and there's nothing to see/do!!!
We look at the extra time on the bus as giving wonderful icmeler a little longer to prepare paradise for us!

As others have said its personal choice. Hanging around at Dalaman in the early hours waiting for the coach to fill up then a 3 hour drive is not my cup of tea. We factor the cost of a private transfer into our holiday and its worth every penny even if it is just to get to bed sooner.

ICR Transfer is great!

Lovely air conditioned mini bus and you dont have to stop off anywhere for a break.
Lots of space too. :)
