Recommended excursions with a 3 year old

Postby keileyoneill » 11 Apr 2012 15:20

Hi all, I have been looking at the excursions that ICR offer and wondered what everybody would recommend for June. it is our 2nd time to Turkey and we are staying at Club Sun Village again. Last time we didnt do any excursions as my daughter was only 18 months, except the boat trip offered by CSV which was excellent and we will do again. My daughter is very well behaved but I dont want her to get bored by being dragged round in the heat. Has anybody Cleopatra, Jeep Safari, Pammukkale, Gypsy Beach.
I was considering the dolphins as we had a fantastic experience in the carribbean with them and I know my daughter would love it, but there has been lots of negative media coverage about dolpins in Turkey.
Your views and expriences would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Hi Keiley, there are a variety of excursions you could try with you daughter. The first one I thought of though given it will be warm is the water park (Aqua Dream), this has a great area for young children to play and stay cool. As you mentioned she has already been on boat trips so they are fine, but we also do an ICR exclusive trip to Akyaka which involes travelling to the resort by jeep and then travelling down the river by boat and also having time to spend on the beach (no chance for her to get bored and plenty to see). The dolphin encounter in Marmaris she would love, because of her age she would not be able to go in the water with the dolphins, but she would be allowed to go to the waters edge accompanied by an adult so she could touch / pet the dolphins or she could just watch. The Dolphin encounter takes place at a therapy centre located between Icmeler and Marmaris and is out to sea. The likes of Pammukkale or Ephesus I think would be hard work for a child aged 3 as they are long journey on a bus, it's lovely when you get to the destination but I think the journey would be too much for a young child unless they slept and it's a long day.

Thank you for your advice, had thought of the waterpark but didnt know which one to go to. Is AquaDream the one on the beach front or up the hill? We will pop in to see you in June to book the dolphins - the one we did before was stood on a platform patting and playing with the dolphins and I thought it was better that swimming with them as it was more fun. Will have a look at Akyaka.
Thank you

Aquadream is the one on the hill. Both are very good but this one is probably better suited for a 3 year old
