Hi we have a place in Icmeler we purchaced last year.
my advise would be as follows

1 dont rush into it there are loads of shops in the back streets of marmaris.

2 dont take a turk with you they will be on commission.

3 just buy the basics to get you going and take your time with the rest

4 electrical goods from migros are cheap but dont last 5 mins buy from a elecrical shop if it goes wrong you can take it back.

5 buy an alarm dont go to bed with your windows open YOU WILL GET TURNED OVER.

6 as soon as you get the house change the locks you can get new locks in most hardware shops in Icmeler

7 dont give keys to anyone .

oh and ye enjoy your new house in Icmeler you will love it.

ps email me if you need any info

As you come into marmaris on the main road towards the centre of the town, as if you were comming from dalaman direction and just entering marmaris, there are a couple of furniture shops on the right hand side of the road, but also as fendlyra says there are also lots of shops at the back of marmaris behind the main bazaar.

Enjoy your new home :D

I've been leaving my windows open most nights in the UK with a ladder in the back garden hoping a little rat will jump in and then that shall we say will be one less.

In Icmeler I leave my windows open day and night and never hd a problem but if other people have then that is sad.

Furniture

Hello,

Thank you for the replies. We've also got an apartment in Altinkum so are prepared re the security side of things.

We are toying with buying furniture there and bringing it to Icmeler as we've looked round a few shops and can't see what we've got there.

What we are mainly looking for are metal framed beds, double single and bunk. We've looked at the shops behind the bazaar and near to Tansas, but can't seem to see anything like this. Has anyone else bought similar items please.
