philip,is this the restaurant on the left hand side, from icmeler, just before the long straight road to marmaris,if it is you may find that it is now closed,or maybe being renovated, this was @ the the first week in october, have heard rumours that there was a problem with renewing the lease,I think the full name of the restaurant is kervan ocak basi, and it was brilliant, the meze was usually our choice and the desert you are talking about is very tasty, not sure what it is called,I hope i am wrong about it closing,if anybody has any information let us know, thanks.

Thýs restaurant ýs one of my faves but unfortunately (from what I have heard) the rumours about the lease are true. Apparantly the people who rent the buýldýng wanted to do a 50 50 splýt of profýts wýth the people runnýng the busýness, understandably they werent ýnterested (as thýs restaurant ýs permanantly packed - summer and wýnter). It was renovated durýng ramadan and ýs now beýng run by the people who own the buýldýng. The new name ýs cihan. I have also heard that the old busýness ýs lookýng for new premýses although ý do not know any more about thýs. I for one wýll be trackýng them down when I do fýnd out more!!

the name of the dessert you are looking for is kadayif
the stuff on the top is shredded dough
if you look on the forum party posted 4 turkish food websites under turkish recipes
i think it is on page 2 now
hope this helps
if you manage to make it tell us all about it
anyone else make their favourite turkish meals at home?
maybe we could cook turkish and drink efes all winter to keep us going
