I would write to them again and formally raise a complaint - its only once these timescales have elapsed will the ombudsman look at your case. However a formal complaint will usually get the company moving, as if they don't - the ombudsman will automatically give you the claim in full.

RE Ombudsman, are we talking about financial ombudsman with regards to credit card/financial claims here?

As myself an BOBUK both have gripes with Huntswood who are dealing with claims that are being processed by the CAA where section 75 didn't apply. I may be wrong but as far as i'm aware there is nobody you can complain too about the CAA/Huntswood's handling of these claims.

If there is could somebody please supply details as i'm just about ready to kick up a right stink ;)

Tiberius - yes sorry, I was talking about credit card claims here. However if Huntswood/CAA are governed by the FSA (and all bonafine financial services firms are) then the same rules and timescales apply - but I've no idea who Huntswood are so you would need to check if they are FSA registered.

Totally forgot to mention as been so busy but I received the money from Huntswood into my bank account last Friday 2nd December, approximately 8 weeks after initial contact from them.

Pleased to have my money back and cleared now from the credit card but my prior comments still stand, this whole process, industry infact needs seriously looking at as despite receiving the money i'm still quite considerably out of pocket because of every process involved from start to finish., and I know that some others will be far far worse off than me :x :x :x

Well done guys , it may have taken a little longer than you would have hoped but at least you got their in the end. WAs this simply a refund of your holiday costs or was this plus consequential losses.

I would urge all those to are entitled to consequentila losses to ensure they came it is your right

Hi Stewart, this refund was for my original flights with Aegean.I did claim for consequential losses from my credit card company and, with help from the financial ombudsman, received my credit within 2 weeks.
