Earthquake

Postby rosiebartlett » 23 Oct 2011 17:03

Just heard the terrible news about the earthquake in Van. I hope anyone with family or friends there has heard they're OK.

So sorry for the families of the people who have been killed. Just watched the news and there was a family of brothers who worked all night to get their brother out, so glad they found him.

A very close friend of ours Zulkuf who we met on our first visit to Icmeler in 99 at the old Adler comes from just outside Van . Rang him him yesterday and he was an age answering and i feared the worst, but bless him heard his voice and he and all the family are safe. The Turkish people are the most genuine folk i have ever come across.

Rang our friend who lives approximately 120 miles away from Van, just to check. Thankfully him and his wife were ok. They were out walking when they heard the news.

Our thoughts are with all the families who have lost loved ones.
