Pint of Efes for 1.49 TL

Postby mikendeb » 06 Oct 2011 08:28

Yes believe it or not they were this week doin pints of draught Efes for 1.49 TL (55p) in the Buffalo Bar. We had a few to start off our nightly sessions in there.
Just got back last night - just in time as the weather is about to change. Weather forcast for the weekend coming is rain with temps down fo 22 degrees.

I will do a full review of our holiday shortly . I will be telling it as I found it this year particularly with my opinions of the restuarants and bars we visited over the last few weeks there. (most were very good but a few were not so good lol,
regards,
Michael

Just a thought, but seeing as its near the end of the season and Sugar may have a couple of barrels of Efes he needs to get rid of selling them at a reduced rate may be better than having them left behind the counter.
With regards to cutting his own throat Sugar is one of the longer established bar owners and you can bet he will be open next year not like a lot who have to close due to the lack of bussiness experience.
To call Sugar foolish, is foolish in itselfe

At the end of the day there's a sell by date on barreled beer, you can't send it back so throw it out for next to nothing...simples.

At least you have more of a grip on reality than Peev Ade, more than 1.49tl to draw it, FFS he really wants to join the real world!

Its not even a sell by date its a best before....at least here it is....which gives you ages.He probably had barrells for a while. We have a delivery once a week.....so if they get one that regular I would be surprised...we sell 4 lagers and 3 bitters and some of the best before dates are 9 months ahead. And yes Sugar has a long established business....nothing green about him.

He is no mug because like everyone else after a meal and a few cheap beers we felt bloated and switched to Vodka and coke so he got a decent take from us when we visited and the place was packed when others were empty. The karaoke was quiet good so most people stayed for a fair while many drinking cocktails etc. No sense in paying overheads and staff if the place is empty,

Mike.

Weatherspoons buy their beer cheap as the best before date is only a matter of days away, so they sell it on cheap. Could be that Sugar does the same thing with Efes.

We popped into Buffalos last week to see friends we met a couple of years ago and we were charged 2.50tl for the draft Efes.
When my hubby asked what the 1.49tl advertised was for the waiter said that was for a half glass.
Its still good value at 2.5tl.
The reason Venice sold theirs at 1TL a couple of years ago was because they had been closed down for a few days for playing music just after midnight and they reopened selling draft Efes for 1tl as this was the 3 rd week in October.
The place was packed out day and night.
