Just to let everyone know that I was reimbursed for my 2012 flights a couple of weeks ago. I then (thanks to this forum) decided that I would try for consequential losses as my flights for next year were double the price of Aegean. I received a letter yesterday and they are crediting my card with £309.96 which is exactly the extra I had paid to TC. Can I just say a huge thank you to everyone on here who has posted with their advice (especially Sue) as I would not have had a clue about consequential losses. I am absolutely delighted and can now have a wee bit more to spend next year (I am such a liar will probably have it spent long before then) ha ha

Told my friend about it and she has just booked flights for June next year for £150 return inc 20kg luggage!!!! Shame it would cost me £300 + from Manchester. Anyone living in Scotland my advice is book now - these prices wont last Long - must be introductory offer.

Hi billyjo..
got home yesterday and letter from credit card co saying they were paying £193 cosequential losses after I passed claim on to Financial Ombudsman.

Not having been on the forum since we returned, I missed this post and having booked on Thursday night with Tommy again, I nearly blew my top. I checked out EasyJet for August 2012 flights and reckon that I would have saved no more than £40 and that is balanced out by the extra driving distance to Edinburgh and crappy flight times. I certainly hope that they add Glasgow to their future schedules with decent flight times and that, to me, means daylight out and daylight back to save on overnight stays.

consequential losses

Postby gez45 » 01 Oct 2011 20:05

Hi, I have just got my money back from Visa for next years flights,as we didn't have the money to book new ones until we got this money back, does anyone know is there a time limit on claiming consequential losses back ? as we won't exactly know how much extra we are going to have to claim for until flights are booked, and who knows how long that will take, thanks.

Good news Bob. It looked promising as soon as the Financial Ombudsman agreed to take your case. Unfortunately credit card companies are the same as insurance companies and will avoid paying out if they can. It's just a shame that you have all the hassle and stress before they finally pay out. This is an incentive now for everyone who hasn't yet made a claim to put one in :)
