Once again an outstanding review, many thanks for taking the time, which must be considerable, in writing such a detailed review. Good to see you all again :D

dksbbs (Dave's review)

Postby polly » 30 Aug 2011 07:25

Thank you for a fantastic review, :) it was like reading a good book, I could not leave it until I had finished. Every aspect was covered (as always). I felt like I was back there, congratulations to your daughter on achieving the results she needed to get her place at the uni of her choice.

:D :D :D At last your review (have been checking the forum for the last week) .I always find your reviews so informative and just adore reading them.Dave how did you find the detour via rhodes was it OK or was it a bit  ?Who did you book your jeep safari with was it ICR?I have taken note of a few of the restaurants that you visited and we will be sure to try them next year.A big well done to your daughter on her uni place, you all must be soooooo very proud of her.Heres hoping that you do get back to Icmeler next year,as having to wait two years for your next review would just be terrible. Thanks for your wonderful review.

Many thanks for a terrific review and reading this on a wet horrible morning has lifted my spirits and made me more excited than ever about my visit at the end of September. You are so descriptive it makes the reader feel like they are living the dream along with you. Thanks for all the useful info about restaurants, positive as well as negative and I will give some of them a try. I am also grateful for your comments about Turunc as it is on my to do list for this visit. Re. travel arrangements well done you for getting it together after such a let down and as they say "where there's a will there's a way" and I am sure it was worth it. I do hope you can manage back next year and look forward to your review. Well done to your daughter and what a lovely gesture from her boyfriend.

Thanks for your kind comments.

The trip via Rhodes worked out really well although a long day it was definately worth the saving, in fact I have just checked out of interest in September for 10 days I could do it for £180 per person plus the 50€ ferry, a lot cheaper than flights are currently showing for Dalaman and Bodrum.

The tips I would give are:-

Get an early flight in case of delays so you get that last ferry>
Be prepared to stay the night in Rhodes if all goes wrong so carry some extra cash.

Get a late flight back if possible again in case there are delays with the ferry or play it safe and stay the night before in Rhodes.

I for one will definatley consider the Dalaman, Bodrum and Rhodes routes from now on, and as I said in my review we may do a two centre holiday one year.

Excellent review Dave

There are a few ways to get to your favourite restort and don't forget going via Istanbul with THY and you could even do a few days stop over either way to see the sights there

I have done Dalaman to Amsterdam and the Easyjet to Liverpool

Also Liverpool Amsterdam then onto Izmir and coach from there to Icmeler

Lots of different ways to do it
