Statement arrived second post and I have had my original flights refunded, I have now sent off my letter regarding consequential losses with all the extra costs attached as a supplemental claim, I have asked for a reply within 14 days so will keep you informed.

I must be doing something wrong.

Everyone seems to be getting their's sorted, I'm still waiting for Tesco (mastercard) to either confirm a refund, or reject the section 75 for flights lost due to Aegean going bust.

Cannot really look into consequential losses as I haven't the money to book new flights until I find out whether we're getting refunded.

John g it is a bit more complicated for your flight refund due to you booking 10 flights, so they will probably process the easy ones first then have a look at the more complicated ones like yourself.
If they think you have booked 10 flights and are going to be paid by the people you booked the flights for, it makes it much more difficult to prove who is part of the credit card contract, they might just try to refund your families money.

Have you be dealing with them verbally or in writing, do everything in writing, enclosed all the evidence and quoted the following

"My claim is made on the grounds that the company has gone into administration and you are jointly and severally liable for any misrepresentation or breach of contract with the above supplier under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. "

Inform them you require a response with in 14 days.

There is a good letter templat at http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shoppi ... s#75letter

Good luck and keep persisting, the law is on your side.

I spoke to TSB today and I have now been reimbursed for all three different flights we had booked with Aegean.

Tomorrow I need to send confirmation and a copy of the invoices for the extra I had to pay out to claim for consequential losses, so fingers crossed.

Flying from Newcastle?

Postby lauren_jayne » 30 Aug 2011 16:38

Hi All,

just a quick one for anyone who has flown from Newcaslte this year already.. Are you still restricted on what you can buy in duty free.. i just remember last September we were only allowed 1 bottle per passport.. Is this still the case?

The reason i ask is when we flew from Glasgow earlier this year we could take as much alcohol through as we wished.

any answers would be great :) only 19 sleeps to go now

they might just try to refund your families money.

All 10 flights had the same surname - all family.

Have you be dealing with them verbally or in writing

Both, phoned to inform them and when they sent the form I also sent back a cover letter with all doc. The 14 days is taken with a pinch of salt - they took that long to send out the claim form.

john G
should go through ok, try stating that the consequential loses are increasing due to there slow progress in refunding your money.
Might work

I didn't realise till after I posted off my claim for a refund on my flights booked for next year that you can claim for the difference in any new flights booked. I have heard from the credit card company that they are refunding me for my Aegean flights. Can you still apply for the difference on new flights booked after you have been paid the refund.

Yes Lynda, I had already applied for my refund before I knew about the consequential loss thing.
