Recommend a jeweller?

Postby Jay Trip » 25 Aug 2011 20:52

Can anyone recommend a jeweller that can increase the size of my wedding ring?
It has been made a larger size twice and now may require a piece of gold to be added make it fit.
Its a about 3/8" wide and is patterned.

Thanks Nicoola,I have plenty of rings including some nice diamond rings but I am hoping to have my wedding ring altered so I can wear it again so I really want to know which jeweller does good alterations.
I also have been going to Icmeler since 1992 but have only recently thought about taking my ring when I go in 5 weeks time and get in altered.

We've used a number of other jewellers in the past but have found that without doubt that Firuze is the best. We've bought a number of items from them including diamond rings. This year I had four diamond rings made bigger because due to health problems my hand has become swollen. Another ring we didn't take, as it is an eternity ring that has diamonds all the way round that we'd bought from Murat and Sona a few years ago. I didn't think that it could be made bigger but apparently it can by taking the diamonds out, making the ring bigger and then replacing the diamonds. So nothing is impossible. The only problem is I've got to wait until next year to have it done :(

You can find Firuze on the map on

The little shop beside the Icmeler Online office is a proper working jeweller and I know a few people who have had alterations carried out there and been delighted with the work.

Thanks everyone for replies.
Now I will have to decide which one to choose!
I had heard of a jeweller that specialises in alterations and I thought it was in the same street as Champions bar.
This must be the one near the ICR office.
Do they buy rings as I have several lovely diamond rings that I dont wear?

There is a good jeweller who does repairs just up from Jimmys Okimo. Its called Star and I've had a few things repaired there and this year a lady where we were staying had a bracelet she needed repairing and he gave her the best price and did a good job....shop around them because they all have different prices.Same with your rings.Shop around and see who'll give you the best price. :)

Fast Fix is the best jeweller in Icmeler. Just behind the ICR office. I have been going to see him for years. I tend to buy every other year if I have saved enough money. The quality is fantastic and he will make anything you ask. We recommended him to a guest at our apartments this year, and she was over the moon with the result. This year I bough a platinum single diamond ring from him, it is absolutely beautiful. Going to have it valued, it will probably be worth around two or three times more here in the UK to what I paid. Good value.
