Me and the other half are off to Icmeler tomorrow lunchtime.

As i've never been before I can't envisage what the walk to Marmaris is like but is it something that's safe to do at night and whats the average length of time for the walk?

I have done this walk a few times but the best was 4 years ago when we walked from Marmaris to Icmeler.
As you come round the corner beside Cafe de Mar the view of the whole resort is beautiful and its a great place to stop for refreshments.

We did it twice, once we left at 11am and it was 55degrees c by the time we got to Marmaris. Very hot but a lovely walk, at a steady pace & took us 2 hours.
Watch out for the grape man who lingers on the walk.
He came up to us and offered us a couple of grapes, which we gratefully accepted. He then got a punnet out and filled it up. So we said thanks and walked off, he came behind us saying "money money" so we said no thanks, u gave them to us. He got a bit annoyed so we said ok ok, being the only 3 people on the path I didn't fancy a ruckuss! 7tl. I though sod it and gave him a ten lira note, to which he put more grapes on, at this point I got a bit annoyed and said u wanted my change, not more grapes, which eventually he gave me.
Nice grapes mind u, but not worth 7tl!!!

We did it last week for the first time, thoroughly enjoyed it. Just follow the coastal path, some lovely sights to see on the way and quite a lot of it is shaded. Will be doing it again!

Chris, you are so correct, we really need to watch out the fruit sellers - my daughter came up with the saying: YOU TRY - YOU BUY... You might think that they offer you to taste few grapes/berries, but if you do that, they definately expect you to buy them as well. After learning this, we never try, unless we want to buy 8)
Especially on the beach, it makes me feel sorry to watch the first timers confusion, when they notice that after they've tried few pcs, the seller won't go away unless purchased something....
