Had flights booked with Hols4U.Day they went bust rang Travel Republic who said to speak to credit card company.Did this and they sent me claim form which I filled in and returned.Got a letter from them a week later saying they couldn`t deal with my claim and had to go thro CAA.All this means I was 2 weeks late in getting claim in.Have managed to rebook flights with TC.

Bobuk
There is an article on money expert saying that the bank will try to fob you off but the cc company have to pay you, also on the CAA leafelt it states that if you booked a flight only you have to claim off credit card

Such a brilliant opportunity missed for the other airlines to gain some customer loyalty in my view. If just one of them had not put their prices up, or even offered a discount if you had lost your flight elsewhere, I'm sure it would have gone down great guns and brought them a ton of free publicity. Instead the greedy heads put the prices up.

What a horrible situation for anyone to be in, I really do hope all those affected get their refunds quickly. We were lucky not to have booked, but now can't afford our September trip cause the prices are just silly.

I hope this the case but somehow I dont think that it would be. Why would the credit card company pay the difference, it has nothing to do with them that Aegean went bust.

Having said that it would be great if this was true

found the info on money expert under section 75 so i sent my receipt in and rang them and they said they will pay the difference as they are just as liable as the company that went bust, will only pay if you send your receipts in otherwise they would not know what you had paid, maybe more difficult with certain banks but the halifax has agreed

Sue

I'm confused!

Are you just getting a refund for what you paid for your Aegean flights?

Or are you getting the extra £170 back from Halifax too?
