What's your holiday reading ?

Major part of a relaxing holiday for many people is book reading, just wondering what everyone has been/is going to read on there jollies this summer.

As a serious bookworm, I always associate holidays with books I've read, even to the point of planning which book I'll read when away, already got the books planned for our week in Portugal and even for spending Christmas in Tenerife.

When we were at Kapmar in July I read The KIlling Hour by Andrew Gross, another great thriller by one of my favourite writers.
Great read would highly recommend it if your looking for a novel to read on holiday.

What has everybody else read or are currently reading ?
Anybody got any book tips ?

anything i can pick up, put down and pick up again, because im nosy i like to see whos around the pool, whats she drinking, whats he doing haha so nothing intense

Bought a kindle just before the holiday this year. Not only did I have a great choice of books to read but for the first time I read a book that wasn't held together with an elastic band. Because of the heat in July I always find that the book begins to fall apart after a few days. In fact we were in the pool one day and no-one else was around, when a few pages blew into the pool from someone's copy of Stefan's Diaries from The Vampire Diaries. Hope they'd read the pages before they blew away

I love my kindle too, and it saves carting all those books everywhere

I also have a kindle. I got mine for Xmas,to be honest wasn't sure I would like it but it is brillant and cuts down on weight you can take loads of books. Have just read Dancing with Darkness it is a really good read. It is a true story the writer was involved in the London bus bombings ofJuly 2005. Following the bombings she felt compelled to risk travelling to Afghanistan. To try and understand why the bombings had happened and learn more about the people,country and culture.

oh ochlynda far to intense for holiday reading haha, i have trouble concentrating on reading about the locals in take a break when im on my holidays, far to much going on to distract me

Got to have my books - got vouchers for my 25-year service at work for John Lewis, so going to spend them on a kindle for my next trip. I love a good thriller/murder - the gorier the better! I'd be lost without a book to read on my hols! Relaxing on the beach, on my sunlounger with some shade, my iPod and a good book and I'm a happy bunny!

I love Robert Goddard books and eagerly await every new one. I love thrillers- can't stand Mills and Boon type books that my mum loves!
I love my new Kindle and have yet to take it on holiday, great invention. It's just a shame you can't swap/send books on them like we do with real books.

At home I dont read much but on holiday I will get through 3 or 4 in the 2 weeks - no problem.

A few years ago in Zante - I was given a James Patterson for the first time - since then I think I have had every paperback so far.

Got 4 in my flight bag for this September together with a John Grisham and a Michael Connelly - all thrillers murder/ cops/ legal etc.

Great stuff - looking forward to many hours relaxing by the pool or on the beach.

As i read alot of books at home it tends to be the mags i buy at the airport for me ,more of a wanderer than a reader on hols just a couple of good mags for those lazy hours i spend by the pool

I don't read at home (haven't got the time) but on holiday always try to get through a book a week. Autobiographies are for me. This year read Paul O'Grady - at my mothers knee, excellent book and have got the 2nd installment for my holiday at xmas. Have read Robbie Williams, John McKenroe, Julie Walters & Barry Sheen to name a few.

love thrillers and horror read every book shaun hutson except new one taking that on holiday,like some james patterson mainly alex cross series and have just got into reading david baldacci.

I must admit that I love sitting out on the balcony accompanied by an ice cold Efes or three and read a nice book or two whilst on holiday. I like the lighter things though, in June I read Peter Kay's book and Michael McIntyre's book, both were laugh out loud funny. I'm back in September and i'll be taking the new Dawn French book "A Tiny Bit Marvellous" and I'm still looking for another funny read to take as well. Any ideas.?

For those who like thrillers, I can recommend The Bone Collector by Jeffrey Deaver..... I couldnt put it down, let alone pick up an Efes!

Only mags for me really on holiday - I just find I am too distracted with any noise or action going on. I tend to read the same paragraph over and over, and after about 3 days I have only got to page 5
