Just a little warning the dreaded mosquitos are out in force this year.Just returned home and was bitten several times this year, never happened before. The spraying seems to have been reduced so is proberly the reason .

After years of no biting, I returned covered in them in May, counted well over 50 in a week. Went out armed with all suggestions in July and still got bit. Until we got air con - don't know if it was just a total coincidence, but in the few days before we got it, I was bitten over 20 times, then not a single other one for the rest of the two weeks :D

We are here now and have not seen any Mosquitos let alone been bitten by them!
They are spraying every morning and night, and I haven't seen a single person with a bite yet, and even the locals have said there are not any about!

Mosquito's breed in the wet, the high summer season there will not be many although people often dont see them as they tend to bite at night on your legs under the tables and while you are sleeping in bed can bite anywhere exposed! they hate fans and dont like air con. Dont forget that at one time Turkey had maleria, some parts I believe near Syria still do. At least we should be thankful for just getting bitten and not maleria :)

I am a mozzie magnet, so this year I decided to adopt an all-out attack on the little blighters - and it seemed to work. If I get bitten, the bites always become infected and I end up on antibiotics, so this year I took antihistamines for two weeks before I went and during my holiday, as well as Vitamin B tablets and garlic capsules, then during my holiday itself, I religiously used the Avon Skin So Soft. I also took a small travel sized insect repellent roll-on (I got mine from Superdrug) and used it before I got off the plane, as I have been bitten on arrival at Dalaman in the past.

Oops, yes - they seemed to work because I only got one very small bite, which didn't become infected and disappeared a lot quicker than usual!

We have just returned from two weeks holiday yesterday. We have been going to Icmeler now for several years and this was the first time we had been bitten. There were 7 of us in our party and we all have bites. I also used Avon skin so soft, but unfortunately it didn`t seem to deter them this year!!!!

Nevertheless we had a superb holiday, and will be returning again next year!

Came back at the end of July and had been warned about the mozzies. I took with me a spray and used the lemon and teatree shower gel. Got bitten once I think but was so minimal that I didn't take any notice of it. At least the bees were not around like September last year when I got stung on the bum!! Ouch!!!

we bought the lemon spray in the shop and its really nice to use
nice and refreshing to spray on your skin just before you go out at night and before you go to bed when you come in
not expensive either couple of pounds

Just returned after out 6 visit to paradise and yes the mozzies r well out, never been bitten before, but this year all of us in our party of 17, got bitten at some point, my sister in alaw ended up in hospital in marmaris with a really badley infected bite, we all took the neccessary treatments but to no avail, can i take this opportunity to give a huge thankyou to Charlie Alison Chritine and all the staff fromCharlies Place on the Tansas road opposite Alins grill for there help, These people are great, and will do anything to help anyone with problems, so if you need help of any kind go visit them,, there food is fantastic and they are really lovely people.

Does Icmeler not have regular spraying to get rid of the mozzies?

I always suffer badly from bites, it doesn't matter what I use to try to deter them they'll always get me.
I'm really not looking forward to night times now :-(

Anytime I am in Icmeler, we always see the mozzie man coming around early evening and spraying all around. The only time I got troubled with Mozzies was when we stayed down the canal area, but up in the old village I have been fine (touch wood) :D

Reesy we're staying at Sarigul, next door to Castle so I hope we'll be ok up there. I was looking forward to sleeping with the doors open but now I'm not so sure that's such a great idea :-(
