Hi DarrenG /adewolves.
Go to the Azra jewellers on the Tansas road, facing Azra go to the left hand side and you will come to the Dry Canal, follow this away from the beach, past the Majestic aparts, until you come to Tommy's at the Turunc road junction. You can also find the canal at Cafe Annes, then head to the Hills at the back of Icmeler.
The Icmeler map is on page 1of this topic. Hope this is of help.
Enjoy Steve

Excellent, now know where Tommy's is. As a guide, how long would it take to walk from Azra Jewellers along the dry canal to Tommy's?

Hi Darren,
Would take approx 15/20 mins, its better to start from Tommy's as the climb up the road is gradual.
Enjoy Steve

The Climb to the Flag Friday 19th August.

Postby adewolves » 06 Aug 2011 14:53

So are we all going to meet on this date at Tommys bar for the climb to the flag, and maybe several Efes later to just celebrate our achievment. Thought it best to start another thread so people can just say yay or nay for the climb on the date. Be great to meet up with folk on here.

Adewolves is a Yay. See you at 8am Friday 19th August in Tommys.

All inclusive ...pmsl.
Make sure though that you wear trainers and not open toed shoes, and 3 quarter shorts at least, it's awesome views up there but rough on the legs in the shrub. Carol just tell ya hubby he will never earn a beer like when hes come from down there.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it, as we only arrive mid-afternoon on the 19th - I'm devastated, honest :D

Couldn't agree more about taking the sturdiest footwear and legwear that you have, and plenty of water as well.

Also, before Rosie reminds me, make sure your camera is on the right settings before you take any photos from the top. A few of mine came out OK, but I tried to be too clever for my own good taking a 360-degree panorama and instead got a dozen completely white shots  I don't think I'll live that one down for a while...

Good luck to everyone who does go, though, and have an Efes or several for me at Tommy's afterwards :D

- Paul.

And I'm assuming there will be refreshments at the top, is there a bar by the flag?

We're flying out tomorrow and I'm waiting to find how much weight we have spare before I decide which footwear to pack for the climb.
