How long will these crooks get away with pulling the plug on peoples holidays at short notice, gold trail, kiss. H4U and aegean dont give a toss we work hard all year to get a couple of weeks in the sun and some crooked business decides to pull the plug after taking as much money as possible. I as the question where has all the money gone, because in my case i had booked and paid for flights for next September yes September as I have used Aegean and H4U for a good number of years without any problems. Luckily I have had my holiday this year and as usual had a ball, my brother and his family 5 of them came to icmeler for first time this year after much persuation and had such a great time booked up for next year on TUESDAY night you cant tell me Aegean did not know that late on that they were down the swanny but happily took the money for 5 flights. how unscrupulous is that you know Al Capone got the jail for less. pity the british press were not hacking their phones!!!!

I couldn't agree more with you. It is as you say outrageous. I was about to book for next year, as like you, I have had my Icmeler fix this year. I don't know who to trust any longer and feel sincerely sorry for all those who have not had their holiday yet and like you have paid for next year. I do hope they manage to salvage something from all this without being exploited yet again by the travel industry.

I had three lots of flights booked for next year, May, August and October. The October one was for 9 seats as we were going to celebrate anniversary with family, and cost us over £2,000. We also lost our flights for this September, but have now booked flights with Easyjet for end of August for 2 weeks and also May next year. Have now got the forms to fill in for claiming money back as Aegean flights were ATOL protected but how long it will take I don't know. Fingers crossed we will get all our money back as it is quite substantial!

corrine i lost money with both kiss and Goldtrail, got money from Kiss quite quickly but Gold trail i am still waiting latest info from A1 travel who are dealing with it on behalf ATOL is that we might get our cheque end of November Goldtrail went out the box around July 2010 so hopefully you dont have to wait that long to be reimbursed !!

yeah i know its awful we lost money with flyglobespan and scot travel
but to be honest its normally the banks trying to screw the companies into the ground
when the guys at the top are still getting their big bonus'

the other thing that makes me fuming mad is the fact that the "big " tour operaters cash in on this!! TC are charging over £500 each for the same flights that i lost with aegean travel for next september. Surely it doesnt make sense for them to do this as most people will just find the crazy prices out of thier reach

I also agree, they must have knew they were going under. I booked our flights Monday afternoon for 4, we don't have the money to book another holiday now until I get this money back, I suppose something to look forward to but I am thinking now to book a package holiday but my husband was looking at F.... C...... last night and the flights that we had booked with aegean for next August are being sold by them for over 2 grand !!! Think I will hold out, keep the money in the bank when I get it back and leave it until nearer the time !! I hope everyone who is stuck out in Icmeler get home OK

I too am a single parent, so is my friend, my mum is a widow and my sisters hubby left her last year so a lot of us are struggling. We all booked to go together for twice next year and paid in full and none of us are exactly rolling in it! At least we get our money back. Only trouble is as someone has said we need the refund to book another flight.

and you get so excited because you cant wait to get away and arrive in beautiful icmeler and then in a moment it can all be taken away
the other companies cashing in really really annoys me
they should have to freeze their prices for a certain time

I cant afford to book any other flights, so it looks as if i'm going nowhere next month.
Why are these bloody companies allowed to get away with it?
I was unlucky and didnt pay by credit card, so will wait for ever to get my money back, too late for this year grrrr!

I know sanjo at least my holiday wasn't until next year so I feel so so sorry for people that were due to go in the very near future. We booked by debit card but HSBC have been brilliant and e-mailed my husband this morning to tell him what documents we need to send and they will have the money back in our account within two weeks of receiving our documentation. That will be going back in the bank and staying there until I have saved a bit more and maybe book something in the New Year now. Good luck all

Surely these greedy rats that suddenly put up seat prices because of a company going bust could be called in front of some commitee to explain why they do this. I mean if a seat is , say £80 next Thursday and h4u go bust today , then suddenly the same seat next Thursday is , say £120 , why can some government idiot not ask the big boys to explain themselves. After all if my local shop closed down a pint of milk would not double in price at the next shop. I know its all down to greed but surely someone must be able to slap them down a bit. I truly hope that all the shops etc in Icmeler manage to see the rest of the season through and hopefully some new arrangements will be in place for next year

If enough of us who have had to pay the inflated flight costs complained about it to whichever watchdog or commitee oversees the industry, or even trading standards infact then i'm sure it would have to be looked into....... That as well as why I had to pay £40 in total of booking fees and credit card charges ontop of my allready inflated flight cost!

However I doubt many people will to be honest

my holiday this saturday flights apartment transfer was £1300 for family 4 ,having seen my kids faces last night telling them were not going i decided take day off work today look for flights or package deal now im paying double price going next tuesday for 11 nights in marmaris but im going stay in icmeler at apartment i booked year ago ,christmas cancelled this year but im going make sure my family are going have best trip our 20th time ever

Surely the administrators are as much to blame as H4U for all our woes. They must of known that H4U were in trouble before yesterday but they still allowed them to take bookings right to the end. They should of shut the website down so no more bookings could be taken.

I almost booked the flights for next year with aegean but read the thread from rakigirl who said ' if it's too good to be true'! then read JT reply to it and decided something wasn't right, thank god i didn't book. I feel so sorry for all those people this has affected and hope everyone gets a good outcome. x
